Let's bring this thread back on track.

From the game against Pakistan, some areas of worries:
  • Lot of stoppable boundaries were allowed to reach boundary. Ishan Kishan's loss in outfield was felt
  • Bunch of leg side gifts given to opposition batsmen, especially by Siraj and Hardik
  • Batting not tested yet
  • Shardul

Also have a feeling we’ll underestimate one of our lower ranked opponents and come to grief there…I mean Afghanistan scored a 270+ against our bowling!

Bangladesh is the only one that can give us trouble. But we won’t underestimate them I think.

Thakur's unjustified position in the starting XI is the no.1 concern. If he is only going to bowl 2 to 5 overs per match, should simply just play Ashwin instead. Other spinners have been fantastic, more reason to not leave out Ashwin!

Only 1 pacer is bowling well at the moment- and that's Bumrah. Meanwhile Siraj is bowling pies and Hardik always has. And Thakur is a trundler. So seriously need to bring Shami in for a game.. It's time!

As for Semi Final opponent, wouldn't want to face England!

Since it is at Wankede, would take NZ over South Africa, even though NZ is India's bogey team. I don't trust India beating a big hitting team in Mumbai!

India v New Zealand rematch would be nice.

Siraj and Hardik's bowling has looked very very subpar. Bumrah, Kuldeep and Jadeja have been superb but there's going to be one or two games where they're not going to get breakthroughs and the others are going to have to step up instead of serving up pies like they have so far.

Jadeja has been good.

SKY probably shouldn't even be in the squad IMO.

Thakur will get punished eventually but he's barely actually bowling at the moment - he's being used as a part timer / partnership breaker. If they're going to use Shami in the same way if he's in the side then they probably shouldn't bother.

Playing a #8 as your 6th bowling option is a waste of space. Either play someone you can send at #6 or someone you trust with 8-10 overs at the least.
