your in the US though, Panthers-Saints and Redskins-Jaguars are the games on in the Ukadharcric said:WTF? I was already watching the NFL on TV.
I think Reds have this game nowadharcric said:48 required from 36 balls. Pathan just got run out. Jadeja & Agarkar at the crease with Bhajji & Munaf to come. VRV bowling brilliantly & Karthik proving to be a world-class keeper.

Yes, but since when do I care about the people in UK?superkingdave said:your in the US though, Panthers-Saints and Redskins-Jaguars are the games on in the Uk
haha, i was just watching it aswell.adharcric said:Funny how I'm the only one on here actually watching the match and I'm the one who doesn't live in India.
Who told you they are the C team ?open365 said:haha, i was just watching it aswell.
Why on Earth are Raina and Kaif playing for the C team?
Raina is one of the best young talents out there and showed against England how good he is.
It says in the daily times sports section.SJS said:Who told you they are the C team ?
India Blue are the original India Seniors,
India Greens are the India A and
India Reds are what was earlier called India B
Presumably the idea is that the Reds are short on batting, so in come Raina and Kaif. Plus they are guaranteed to play in every game, whereas in the Blue team there will have to be some rotation.open365 said:It says in the daily times sports section.
So, the reds are acctualy the worse team?
I don't get it.
Let me try to explain the selectorial thought process in detail here ....open365 said:It says in the daily times sports section.

By and large what adharcric is saying is correct.adharcric said:Let me try to explain the selectorial thought process in detail here ....
a) India Blue is essentially the regular XI, with Powar missing out so he can get a guaranteed role elsewhere.
b) India Red is essentially the India A side, with Uthappa, Gambhir, Sharma, Rao, Badrinath, Karthik and VRV having played in that team recently.
c) India Green is essentially a makeshift side of all the other guys that need an opportunity but have fallen out (Ganguly, Laxman, Nehra, Balaji).
d) Since most of the actual India A bowlers aren't good enough to make the Challenger Trophy (Paul, Trivedi, etc), India Red also has two quality seamers in Zaheer and Sreesanth and perhaps the strong bowling attack has been put there to offset the inexperienced top order.
e) Raina and Kaif have been placed in India Green so that a) they get more playing time and get to play a leading role and b) they get an off day after the UP-Sialkot match, which also explains why Chawla and Kumar are found in India Green.
Maybe Greens have stronger batting, whil Reds have stronger bowling. Actually, India A (here Red) is supposed to be the actual India A team which travels abroad or faces visiting A teams. The India B team is made of newcomers or domestic performers who haven't got a chance. The India discards are distributed across all three teams.adharcric said:Let me try to explain the selectorial thought process in detail here ....

Dinesh Mongia? I hope not. This all-rounder prospect was an all-round liability here. His bowling was dreadful, and it was surprising that he got five overs while rookie Ravi got only three. His batting was as bad as it was in the last ODI he played, hogging the strike and turning it over at inopportune times. The Blues should give Delhi stalwart Mithun Manhas a game here. Agree about RP Singh being the fifth bowler.adharcric said:These are the sides I expect for the second match between India Blue and India Green.
Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dravid, Yuvraj, Mongia, Dhoni, Pathan, Agarkar, Bhajji, RPS, Munaf
Jaffer, Ganguly, Kaif, Raina, Badani, Kumar, Patel, Chawla, Lahiri, Balaji, Nehra
