I've heard of Satish before as well, but that doesn't mean he should be in the Challenger Trophy. Absolutely undeserving of a spot among players of this caliber. If they wanted somebody from TN, they could've taken Vidyut or Sriram instead. Anyways, it's not a big deal as they won't even get a match. I'll shut up now. :)
Oh brother!!! Totally forgot about SRK Vidyut! Frontline batsman who started off as a spinner, and can still bowl reasonably well.

yeah cricinfo's going quite slowly for this match ...
They've frozen their scorecard. Even Yahoo's India Sports page, which actually works better, has stopped.

Now Venugopal Rao is in, so I won't be surprised if four maiden overs are bowled, followed by at least one wicket falling. Gambhir is going unusually slow now. That won't help much, because that's very unlike him, a quick scorer who has actually got reasonably big scores. He's got his only ODI hundred scoring quick. With his partner more content with playing out dot balls, he has to step up the scoring rate.

EDIT 1: It seems Venu's hit some four boundaries off Agarkar's latest over till now. Harbhajan and Mongia brought on to bowl. Hang on, they've got Ravi Jadeja with them, a frontline spinner. What's with the bowling change?

EDIT 2: Three figures for Red. Gambhir steps up a little and reaches 41. Hopefully it will be three figures for him.

127-2 now. Gambhir gets his 50. Very well played after a early reprieve, but some terrible running between the wickets.

Gambhir, it seems, is scoring more in singles than boundaries. He's hit fewer fours, but has a better strike rate!

EDIT: Still no sign of Neo TV (my cable-ops are on holiday), and the score still shows 111/2. Still no change

Can't say Venu's all that bad as a batsman, he's giving the Blue folks second thoughts about their fifth bowler. Let's not forget about Gambhir, who's still an India prospect and scoring 11 runs of a Harbhajan (not Mongia) over. He's getting the harder part right.

I don't consider Venu a one-day prospect, period. Even Gambhir has a better chance in tests because Jaffer isn't as established as the opener in that format, but at least he's a genuine one-day prospect.

About time they brought on Jadeja ... this is the bad part of being selected for the main side in the Challenger Trophy. You really don't get to do ****.

They should have brought him on earlier, instead of Mongia. He'll now lose at least three overs (two will have to be cut from Agarkar and Harbhajan) of his ten.

This is absolutely dumbfounding. If there's a stock spinner in Blue, why are they bowling part-timers for 7 overs? Sehwag's two overs went for 13 runs. That's 7 overs, no wicket for 42.

For those watching this match, what's the status? CricInfo still says it's 175/2.

For the final overs, there's one left for Harbhajan, three for Munaf and four for Agarkar, and also seven for Jadeja. They may have trouble in the final overs now, though it's a good comeback for Irfan, with his 3/55 off all 10 overs he got.

How was the final-overs bowling? That looked bad, despite them facing four tailenders. The way things unfolded, this must have been a rather disappointing first half.

The death bowling was actually pretty decent from Munaf and Agarkar, considering they held two good hitters in Karthik and Sharma to few boundaries. It wasn't very entertaining though. Really sucks how there isn't any speed indicator in this match. It's hard to tell how well someone like Zaheer really is bowling.

Man you gotta love Sreesanth. Bowls a maiden to Sachin and then gives the glare to his own teammate and a legend.

hell of a tail for the reds with Murali at 8, might cost them aswell, look about 20 short on this wicket.
I'm surprised Murali Karthik got a match, since both TP Singh and Raghu are better batsmen.

Neither are national prospects though. Mind you, neither is Kartik, but he used to be one. :)

They managed to hold Karthik and Sharma to few boundaries and even got Powar out for zero, but Reds had a long, weak tail which could offer little resistance, yet they sneaked in so many runs at that stage.

Surprisingly, Ravindra Jadeja only got three overs, though he was a stock spinner playing for Blues. Part-timers got seven, and that may have changed the course of that innings.
