Wow, Ganguly did bowl really well, kept things tight.

Btw, who you guys rooting for, I am all for Mumbai as I am originally from there.

Ganguly's figures are deceptive. He did a lot more than "keep things tight" and should have picked up a wicket or two. Dare I say, he was Bengal's best bowler as Bose fell away after his opening spell of two wickets. Impressive stuff.

Mumbai. I really want Tendulkar and Sharma to do well.

We should look to start using him again in the WC imo. I still remember when there was that India/Pak series here in Toronto in 97', at that time he was bowling so well, taking a load of wickets including a 5 fer during one of the matches in that series.

Mumbai. I really want Tendulkar and Sharma to do well.

Keep going Manoj Tiwari!

Damn I wish I got at least the highlights of this game. Dish tv doesn't carry Neo right now.. :(

PS - Given the strength of Mumbai, I do feel Mumbai are favorites to win but hopefully some brilliant performances from Bengal blokes make this a Bengal victory we will treasure and talk about for many years.

36/4. Things not looking good here. Only positive is that Tiwary is still there. How has he batted? Seems like a pretty confident little knock till now, not to forget aggessive...

Should be interesting to see if Bengal can avoid the follow-on here. That will give them some hope.

Lahiri and Dinda.

Now all we need is to restrict Mumbai to around 150 in the second inning and then chase 350. Hehe.

Come on Powar!
28.6 Powar to Dinda, FOUR, Steps down and hits over long off, good attempt at the boundary
28.5 Powar to Dinda, FOUR, Tossed up outside off and Dinda slog-sweeps towards square leg

30.2 Powar to Dinda, SIX :p :p :p

Mumbai 320 all out. Bengal 143 all out.

Now what? :D

Discount the Jaffer and Tendulkar inning and you can see most of the Mumbai batting were troubled by the Bengal bowlers. Lahiri is pumped up, the pitch helps the spinners now, Lahiri runs through Mumbai and then the Bengal batsmen show exactly why they are so good with a memorable win.

This nonsense of sending wicketkeepers to open has to stop. Instead, one of the top teams in a Ranji final chooses to do it. Not surprisingly, a surprise rising delivery by Agarkar has bengal keeper Dasgupta popping a catch to short-leg.

The bounce here has been very low, and that's often resulted in one inside edge too many. Bose has tried to keep a line and length for a long time and move the ball, but with absolutely no support from the other end, he's lost pace and started spraying the ball around. That said, he may get a national call-up given his impressive performance of 53 wickets in 8 matches here, at an average a little over 14. He doesn't have much pace, but then, nobody does. His fielding may not be good enough to make the Indian ODI side, but he's clearly a better choice than Munaf, who's been treated very kindly by the selectors once more.

Anyone know why Munaf's pace has gone down?.Remember seeing him in the England series and he was 140kph+.Now seems to bowl 130-133kph and I'm not sure why this is.Is it because of an injury?.
