Bcci seriously need to revamp pitches for ranji trophy. Our players cant play when ball moves or turns yesteryear players could play spin as pitches used to assit spin now pitches are flat roads producing ftbs

Nah.. our pitches and the variety we get across the entire country and with different weather conditions between Oct-Nov and Feb-Mar is more than enough. BCCI just needs to ensure the A team program is back on track again. The A team should be doing 2 tours every year, ideally one should to a SENA nation and other maybe the other teams. WE should also play 2 series at home every year against visiting sides. 12 A games per year should ensure we have enough backup red/pink ball players.

We should also ensure we play a day/night test every season, ideally in the same ground, and I would prefer Kolkata, though Ahmedabad would be fine too. And start having 10 or 12 centers only for test matches.

there is a lack of spine in this team.

When is the last time that Rohit, Kohli or Gill were willing to bat ugly and bat time in order to just survive? Jaiswal is picking up their bad habits too. Lokesh is the only one who demonstrates any heart, but unfortunately combines that with random brain fades to get out. It doesn't help that they keep dicking about with his role and position in the team. If he doesn't score here they may drop him or move him back down the order again, which will not help one bit.

Bowling wise Ash and Jaddu may be fading but are still not being given clear role in the team or plan when bowling. We continue to handle how we select and utilize them overseas poorly. Ashwin did a great job last series, should have started this one, but we went for Washy for Perth and then dropped Ash after one game. How are any of our spinners meant to play a role in the series if they all get rotated after each test?

That ties into the bowling just being reliant on Bumrah to win us games. We knew that the pace attack was inexperienced, it doesn't help when the captain is uninspired too. The bowling can still do a job if they were lead better, and if the batters could actually see out a days play.

Look, the problem has been obvious. Rohit's captaincy was waaaaaaayyy overrated based on IPL exploits but the fact that he had a bit of an allstar team and no expenses spared support staff and still could not get his team to the play-offs every other year must have been a giveaway.

At BEST, and this is already a stretch, he may have made a great LO captain. He just plainly lacks the temperament required for test captaincy.

I am not gonna deny the good attributes he has, including being very welcoming and friendly with newcomers etc. But there is being a leader in the team, and there iis being a leader OF the team. We are paying the price for Ganguly's idiotic childish hatred of Ravi Shastri. And we have been paying it for years.

There is also the A team program which is a non-starter right now. Unless we go back and accept our mistakes and look at the great things we had done under the Shaz-Virat era, we are doomed.

The one positive is the brand of cricket Australia play can evoke the best out of opposition, they aren't humble like NZ, when they are on top they will let you know about it and their fans too are similar, this kind of stuff historically brings the best out of guys like Kohli and Rohit
If this is the best of Kohli and Rohit we are so ****ed unless we fire them out of a cannon

lineup for Sydney:

Jaiswal and Lokesh opening
Jadeja at 3 cuz he's the best bat
Sundar 4, Jurel 5, (break up the lefties), Pant 6, NKR 7, Axar 8
Bumrah (captain), Akash Deep, Siraj

4 seamers, 3 spinners, batting till 8. Team full of spine, backup keeper incase Pant concusses his hamstring. Let's go.

Rohit Sharma is a worse Test Captain than Tendulkar. Tendulkar had the self -respect to resign from Captaincy . Rohit won’t even do that .
