Not the guy's fault he isn't good enough but someone string up the selectors who can't seem to gauge and forecast for **** how a player will shape up at the highest level. You look at a Rinku Singh and can tell he has the game even if he doesn't go on to deliver. With a guy like Dube you're simply setting him up to fail. I'm sure I"ll be making this same criticism six months from now when Patidar books his seat for Australia on the back of a great IPL season.

The problem with Dube and a number of recent "6 hitters" is that they seem to think "you can take a few balls to have a sighter" to literally mean "block it aimlessly for dot balls". The ability to maneouvre the single is an absolute necessity in LO batting and maybe batting in general overall and these guys are not good at that.


That said, Dube's issue also seems to be nerves. He is just not upto it in pressure games and situations.

The good side of it all is that he does have very good Ranji numbers and I think he does have the game but just needs to put it together and get his head sorted when batting. He can still do a job if he does that, as a specialist spin hitter batting at 5.

I don't know how good Dube is against international quality spin; IPL is a different level. And if pace can castrate him like that there is no point anyway.

There is only one bowler from major cricketing nations in top 15 SR list in T20Is. But we don't play him because of all-rounder spam.
