8-) 8-) Did you read the Dravid Interview yet ?? In case you missed it, here is the relevant part :-

"We should not get too carried away by these wins. "

The key will be winning this series 5-2, 6-1 or 7-0 then backing it up with good series wins at home and away for the next 6 months or so. If they don't do that then there's no way they can be considered one of the favourites IMO.
W-O-R-D

Fav's or no fav's for the cup, i can't comment on that , but i can say they have improved alot and that too in a very short period. Its good that they have brought back champ Ajit back in the team, now its time to call back Zaheer Khan, who i believe is a wonderful talent who shouldn't be wasted only coz he's a bit lazy.

Can't argue with that, well said.

Absolutely.

Beating Sri Lanka, even this comprehensively, only means that they seem to be out of the hole that they seemed to have fallen into but lets not loose perspective.

There's a long way to go yet. I hope and pray they will do it but as of now, I am not offering odds on it.

excuse me, a bit lazy? nah its ok, i'll take a hard-working sreesanth or vrv singh over that. we can't tolerate any poor fitness or lack of effort. if zaheer works hard in those areas, i'd love to have him back in the team, for he is definitely a talent. same goes for nehra.

Put your money where your mouth is

Here are the odds as on date : HERE

Australia 3.00

India 6.50

England 6.00

Pakistan 8.00

South Africa 6.50

West Indies 11.00

Sri Lanka 13.00

New Zealand 13.00

Zimbabwe 331.00

Bangladesh 501.00

Kenya 501.00

Why argue about it. Just go and multiply your money. I find New Zealand at 13 : 1 very interesting.

LMAO @ NZ and SL's odds despite their high ranking in the ODI table.

I wouldn't mind a crack at Pakistan at $8, because they're always a chance, and I'm very tempted to put some on NZ.

I dont know. Even I was surprised. I was expecting longer odds on India and wanted to put some money on it :(

Yeah I was hoping for something like $9-$10 on India, that would have been a nice bet.

Those odds are almost in test order ranking form, rather than ODIs.
1) Aus
2) Eng
3) Ind & SA.

Maybe its to do with the fact that many Indian supporters are likely to bet on India and then the bookmakers may suffer a huge loss if India actually win the competition more than any thing else.

I am sure Marc would know the reason. It the impression I get though.

Didnt know Marc is in THIS business :jawdrop:

I've a strong feeling that the finals of 2007 WC would be a repeat of 2003 WC finals, with India meeting Australia again and this time the results might be different!

Marc is the enemy of bookmakers the world over - I suppose you could describe him as the Anti-Hansie. He had to buy so many wheelbarrows in order to take his winnings home from the bookies that I cashed in myself. I bought shares in "Wheelbarrows-R-Us", a company whose meteoric rise in fortunes is matched only by the crash suffered by Corals, Paddy Power, Hills etc. Bookmakers have taken to installing MPS (Marc71178 Positioning Satellite) in order to establish his whereabouts constantly. If he ventures within 100 metres of their premises, metal shutters drop automatically before he manages to stick a quick 50p crossed double on a couple of donkeys in the last two races at Fontwell.

LOL - although I no longer gamble since I don't have the time to research my bets enough to ensure I get the value.

Might nip into that money makers in the next round though.
