wow, 3 votes for ind 4-0

keep up the good work, guys. atleast 4 sensible guys voted in this poll and thought broad-mindedly about the series in a more rational and a realistic way.

all those non-aussies who voted for ind 3-0/3-1/4-0, please reconsider ur decision.

Nibblet just supports two teams:

New Zealand and anybody playing Australia.

I have seen a few shirts like that.

Erm, nobody has voted for India to win 3-0 or 3-1, and 2 of the people who voted for India 4-0 are just humouring you.

Also, you can't change your vote.

I think Amits is trying to recruit people to his cause so he doesn't look quite as stupid when Australia trounce India.
Maybe you should think about getting a wig, Amits

I'd have said 3-0 or 3-1 as Aussies tend to get bored, but with the SCG being Waugh's farewell, that isn't happening.

I've gone for 3-0. I can envisage the Indian top 6 catching fire at some stage to deny the Aussies a clean sweep, but the warm-up games have strengthened my conviction that India won't be able to take 20 wickets. Hope I'm proved wrong.

I have tipped 3-0. India will not win a test but the Gabba test may be a draw because of rain.

The argument going on here is pointless. Deeps has given his justification for supporting Australia and that is it. Country of birth generally always over rides everything else.

I just saw something flying past the window

It was amits' 4-0 Indian prediction on the back of a pig

about the test series, india will for sure win the series. india r surely due for a big win abroad and with tendulkar and laxman in flying form, these 2 players will alone be enough to murder the aussies after sehwag and ramesh take india off to a flying start.
look from an indian side as well, not just take 1 sided decisions based on australia
india does have the team to pull off big wins when almost nobody expects them to. india will surely win the series. deep down my heart, i still believe it will be a 4-0 win to india
only rain can save australia.

say thanks to rain, all aussies as that is the only way aus can prevent defeat.
BQB, dont be so arrogant. india for sure will win the series.

also, i am the only one waging a lone war for india ? is it only me out here who thinks that india will win the series ???
the indian team certainly cant ignore my comments i still believe that india will win the test series and will continue to do so until the series is over.
i think that india can win 1-0 easily.

india must try and draw the 1st 3 tests by batting for a long-long time and in he 4th test, a confident india should push for a victory.
i am clearly seeing this scorecard for the 1st test -

Aus 308 all out
Ponting 84
Waugh 76
Harbhajan 5/78

Ind 419 all out
Sachin 185
Laxman 103
Gillespie 4/94

Aus 219 all out
Waugh 68
Harbhajan 3/58
Zaheer 3/61
Tendulkar 2/54

Ind 109/1
Sehwag 74*

david hoitink,

Australia will win the series but whether its 4-0 who knows ?

Historically India have played rather well on Sydney's turning deck.

In 1947-48 -- they rolled the Bradman led Australian side on a turner for 107 in response to India's first innings of 161 -- quite an achievement to do that to the 'Invincibles' side.
In 1985-86 - they piled up 4dec-600
In 1991-92 - They held the upper hand throughtout the test only for rain to foil their victory push.

I think they also won the 1977-1978 test there.
So if there was one test, they could definitely target as a place they could win, it's probably Sydney.

I don't know what the wicket in Sydney was like in 1947-48, but throughout the eighties and early nineties it was a spinners paradise, where a bunch of guys like Bob Holland, Murray Bennett and Greg Matthews would get selected for the Sydney test (and nowhere else) and bowl very well more often than not.

A change in curatorship and Sydney is no longer like this, so I think it probably won't offer the advantage to the Indians that it once did.

iamdavid, aus r 275/5. india have come right back into the match taking 3 quick wickets.

now what u have to say

well tIm and benny, in 1999-2000 when India last toured Australia, the Sydney wicket was a greentop.
It was a greentop also for the Australia-India ODI in January for the VB series.

Pakistan also toured that season. Yet I found it amusing that when they played at the SCG, the pitch turned and turned considerably -- a complete contrast to what India played on.
Of course maybe the Aussie bats weren't relishing the thought of facing Wasim, Waqar and Shoaib on a greentop !

Anyway, The Pura Cup games this season have been played on
typical Sydney wickets -- low, slow turners. There is plently of turn from the pitch currently but whether that pitch stays in place for the India test remains to be seen :D

amits, 5/275 with gilly and katich still in, and bichel and gillespie still to come...bracken and macgill are ok wif the bat...aus can still make 350-400 quiet easily... And all australia need are 2 good deliveries...on to tendulkar, and the other to dravid...and that's the end of the indians...
