If you could change one law/rule in Test cricket?

The boundary rule where if the fielder is touching the ball while over/on the line, even when the ball itself is still inside the boundary, it’s considered 4.

Makes no sense. Disregard the fielder’s body. The only factor that should count is the ball physically going over the boundary.
Would you have the same consistency of rule application for 6's?

England shouldn't be playing five tests in Australia every 4 years. Either make it once a decade for novelty value or limit the series to two tests.

Overrates should have nothing to do with WTC points unless it's affecting the result.
Why not?

Cricket, like all sports, is an entertainment business. Slow overrates deprive the fans of entertainment. And it's not like they players are being asked to maintain an impossible pace of play either.

There needs to be a punishment for being slow. Banning players defeats the purpose, financial penalties only really penalise cricketers from poorer teams. What else would your reccomend?

WTC points aren't perfect and it's kind of ridiculous that teams can lose a spot in the final because of this, but at the same time this seems like a system that will actually work and keep pressure on teams to bowl their ****ing overs on time.

Is that what fans are telling you?
starfighter can't stop ranting about it in match threads

Slow overrates are hardly the end of the world, but it's definitely a problem that needs a solution. WTC points might not be the best one, but other solutions tried so far have failed and so I see no harm in trying this. It's not like anyone even cares about WTC.

Very likely we'll see this rule phased out once people actually see the WTC Championship as being meaningful, but till that day comes if this helps keep players in line then good. I'm all for it.
