True. Any sporting board that is managed by politically-motivated men cannot be the best thing. Politician must not be anywhere close to cricket, IMHO.I hope no one minds it. But people talk about PCB, but International Cricket Council is nothing but Bull ****.

Wow, Sanga wins ODI player of the year.
There are about 15 ODI players better than him. Hell, SL alone had 2-3 better ODI players last year.
Guess they looked at his stats along with the Wk and captaincy. Must have missed the times he fell asleep behind the stumps and let the team go on auto pilot. Not mention his test match standard SR during the power plays.
"Sangakkara played 25 ODIs in the period under consideration - August 11, 2010 to August 3, 2011 - and scored 1049 runs at an average of 55.21 including a century and seven half-centuries. He also had 26 catches and 10 stumpings as wicketkeeper and led Sri Lanka to the final of the 2011 World Cup."Wow, Sanga wins ODI player of the year.

Judging by your posts thus far, I beg to differ.I could have done it just as well, if not better!
Yep. Would be marginally interested to see some stats on awards/Man of the Match given to batsmen and bowlers. I know from during the IPL the Man of the Match award heavily favoured the batsmen.Such a batsman's game, eh? Jimmy robbed.
Sangakkara was probably the 3rd or 4th best ODI player in his own team this year. Without a doubt actually given the award for his speech at the MCC.
lolHe was already laughably given a place in Test Team of the Year for that boring MCC speech, giving him the ODI award as well is surely pushing it!?
He read it from a piece of paper, probably written by a professional writer. I could have done it just as well, if not better!
