Netherlands make the most of winning the toss & batting first on the flat Harare wicket before Nannes & van der Merwe snuffed out any chance Zimbabwe might have had of drawing the game.

Things are looking very topsy-turvy in Group B with another upset. T&T really only have themselves to blame after that calamitous first innings. Khurram Khan turning in a real captain's effort with the ball.

International Coach
Before the game I thought Barbados would be better off with a specialist bowler instead of Stoute.

Turns out I know nothing
Tbf I know barely anything about these players, just that Stoute averages 21.76 bowling and 27.63 batting. :)

Turns out the sim hates Ashley Nurse. 1 over total, with Campbell and Richards bowling. At least he did pretty well with the bat.

Ryan Hinds turning out to be handy player, 2-29 and 28 a pretty nice start.

State Captain
Well damn, that was unexpected. Great win for the bangers lads - batters killed it! Especially proud of the bowlers though - was worried I would struggle to take 20 wickets on a flat track. Looking forward to a home game (and a dust-bowl)

Wales vs Afghanistan - Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

Afghanistan 1st Innings

Wales 1st Innings

Afghanistan 2nd Innings

Wales 2nd Innings

Match drawn

Man of the match: Simon Jones

Points: WAL 12 AFG 7

Jones looking very dangerous out there, though Wales missed having Croft in the second innings which allowed the Afghani batsmen to pull a rescue job. Cruelly, roughly a session's worth of play being lost to rain denied the crowd a conclusive result.

Irfan Ahmed wasn't used with the ball much for HK. Might have to leave him out for another batter next game

UAE, Wales, Netherlands all looking stronger than anticipated. Zzz.

Kenya starts off its tournament in positive fashion with an incredible comeback victory sparked by Odoyo & Otieno's fourth innings vigil.

Really sorry Ed. I've just realised that Kevin Stoute isn't available for your side (He's actually in the Barbados squad & has never played for the Windwards or Leewards). I'll need to get you to pick a replacement for him mate.

How did I not notice that? I even made a comment about Stoute above!

I'll bring in Gavin Tonge instead. He can come into the XI as well to make it easy, but maybe a change in the batting order:

Williams
Smith
Powell
Ambris
+ Jacobs
Fletcher
Tuckett
* Sammy
Cornwall
Tonge
Joseph

Whatever it takes!!!
Wow.. what an upset filled start to this tournament.

T&T 124 on what was mentioned as perfect batting conditions with nothing in the pitch for either seamers or spinners. And we get bowled out for 120 odd. **** . Gotta get them to slug it out harder in the nets and lesser in the pubs.
