ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate (AM) XI v England. January 7-9, 2012

I don't think 2/46 off 19 overs is quite cause for a journey to the stable with a twelve-bore.

Swann's figures more a source of worry. Might be terribly unflattering, of course, but I guess he'll be required to send down an awful lot of overs in the test series so an ER of well over 4 RPO is less than optimal.

Anyone drawing too many conclusions from this match are clutching at straws. Most of the england team haven't played since the start of september or the end of october. I guess the players will just be happy to get through the day without picking up any injuries.

can't read too much in to the scorecard England are possibly just easing themselves in to the tour and hoping to put in a decent workout.

England will be ****ing delighted if they constantly find themselves batting at the end of day 1 having knocked over the opposition for 280.

Haven't watched any of the game but I'd have thought that's exactly what the England bowlers needed after such a long lay off, they wouldn't really have learnt anything if they had blown them away for 130 or something. Good to see Broad has kept up his form and wasn't just a summer thing.

Awta. An Ideal warm up really. Not too many overs but a good work out. Hopefully most of the guys can get some runs tomorrow.

Looks like being very much a new-ball pitch. Will be interesting to see if that story remains the same in the Tests.

Overall, very little than can be read into it, and it's good to have an extended run out and blow the cobwebs out of the system, but on the other hand, Boyd Rankin 43?

Okay, game is back up and running right now. I remember watching a youtube video about the rise of cricket in Afghanistan, and Hamid Hassan was featured, and something about him playing at Lords? Anyway, he's dismissed Strauss, so, I'm asking anybody who is watching, how well is Hassan bowling?

EDIT: And now he's just had Trott caught behind for 1.

****, apparently Hassan has taken a dive over the boundary fence and been stretchered off.

Hope its not too serious
