ICC Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka

most probably the same regularities that seem to occur whenever Pakistan self destruct ....like the series in NZ !!!!!

:(

They are probably just being ultra-careful or something. I didn't think there was anything particularly "irregular" about that game except that Pakistan self-destructed which should by now be accepted as a very natural occurrence in Pak cricket.

Yes there was nothing irregular about the game, just another typical performance. But I read that somebody tipped the guyz up in ACU or a commentator, now that would be interesting. But its all rumours nothing more than that yet. I m hoping for the worst :(

I didn't read about a tip-off. What are the rumours floating around? Is it concerning certain specific players or the entire team?

In the UK media today, they've requested a recording of the game.

I reckon it's just a scare tactic, and they're letting the players know they're being vigilant.

Yeah, although with all the security measures in place, I don't think even those who are actually involved will try anything. By the way, after that initial cleanup(Cronje, Azhar, Jadeja...), does anyone know who are the remaining international players under the match-fixing microscope?

I guess it's just a general "warning".

I don't think anything is going on, but by doiing this, the ICC are letting people know that they are still aware of the threat of it.

The ACU are a bunch of jokers, what is this general warning suppose to mean?, warning for what?.
There wasn't any match fixing, i read somewhere that ACU are especially after Youhanna, coz he got out on just 1.So basically whenever a player will fail, the ICC is going to go after him. What can they achieve from all this? just to make their presence felt???

I tink what has happened is the ACU sat down and decided the first surprisingly one-sided game or shock result they would request videos to "investigate" it. They don't think anything has gone on, but they just want to keep the players aware that they're being watched. Good idea if you ask me.

I think NZ had more of a chance but they played a pitiful game against Aussie. Yes I know Aussie is one of the best teams but we are the defending champs.
But then again if we had Mcmillian and so on we might have had more of a chance.
Also I think we have had sufficent warm up.
Sorry for raving on

What odds would I get on the following semi-final line-up?

New Zealand
Zimbabwe
West Indies
Sri Lanka
Well I reckon for a start NZ were beaten but i haven't really been keeping up with it. Zimbabwe, well i don't think so. WIN should have a good chance and SL is through. The odds are about 30:1

Yeah, if that deters players from throwing matches, I guess it's a good idea.

No arguments there - I think it's a brilliant piece of non-action!

Although from what I've heard today, they asked for all tapes from every game, and Tony Greig made it into a big story!

Agreed if only it applies to surprising game or shock results. In Pak-Sl game, the result was neither surprising or shocking.Had Pak lost to Holland, i would had definately welcomed the move.

The latest news is that the ICC had denied any investigation of MF in that match

The run out (which I haven't seen) was allegedly dubious, which is why the fact this has come out is getting so much publicity.

According to The Times today, they were keeping all tapes anyway.
