ICC 2005 Trial download

What is with the one day trial. I installed it, played for an hour, turned off my PC, came back four hours later and it claims it has expired. Thats pretty frustrating. Anyway can any one confirm if the first class comps outside of England now work or not??

After playing only a few games last night and realising the one day trial includes only the day you downloaded it (download it in the morning) a few observations
- Yes, I agree with previous comments about the player photos. I actually enjoyed having them there and updating them as well but oh well.
- 6s... that's all I am saying.
- Didn't look at the stats but that is something that should have been ironed out before it's release.
- The automatic selection is really wrong. I had David Hussey (even though he is a good player) pre-selected along with Bichel and some others. Granted they are good players and that this isn't a major issue but just something that has interested me in previous versions.
- Goodwin playing for ZImbabwe?
- Berry still playing for Victoria along with other retired players.
- Lack of records. I wanted to see more possibly a all time career runs/wickets/dismissals. Don't know how hard this would be to track.
- I like the emblems and have added them to my ICC2002 copy.

I think i will buy this new version. If it is available in Aus because I don't have a credit card so bit hard to 'unlock' the full version. And i ain't on broadband either.
Question on the 'unlocking' thing. Do you have to download more or it just gives you the license number.
I would have liked to see a player editor, Andy Symonds able to bowl RM or OS, more records, under 19 squads (seeing players results in the year and keeping an eye on them and a possibility of negotiations with them).
Anyway I am shutting up and continuing with database ideas (18 Legends sides, 18 World XI sides playing the English season). If anyone wants these databases made I'll listen to comments and decide soon.

A new feature I really liked is in this game. Overseas players don't disapear for the entire season when on tour.

Great I thought. This means that when my Lancashire career gets to it's second season I'll still be able to have Murali for half the season, even though Sri Lanka tour England. After all Murali is worth having even for half a season.

But no. Go to renew his contract and it says exactly the same thing as it says in ICC2002. On tour and so not available.

Needs fixing.

No more to download when you pay to unlock the game. You just enter the payment details, click the button for it to go through and then you've got the game to continue once you restart it.

So...if you register and pay the £17.99 or whatever it is, are you actually getting the full game? If so then why wait until the 5th August to buy the game? Help!

In case you don't know their is a thread over at the cricketgames.com forums started by Dan where he wants people to list database mistakes so that they can hopefully be fixed. He also mentions he might update the stats to be more current.

Right i've got it now, and paid for the full version. Definately worth it, even if it isn't much changed.

Played a season with Lancs and won Div 2 of the CC, 4th in the NL, QF of the C&G and got hammered in the Twenty20, think ill have to work on my tactics for that.

Had a pretty stellar year with the batting, the only first class game i lost was after setting Durham 380 to win on a turning pitch with Murali in my side. Chilton scored 1359@52.27, Loye 427@61, North 1368@65.14, Marshall 640@71.11, Sutcliffe 766@42.56, Cork 612@43.71. Hodge and Law also scored a lot but can't retrieve their stats.

Had to let Law go because he's down as an Aussie - so he retired. Also let Hodge go, so my overseas players are Murali and Gilchrist :p

Regarding the database errors for Lancs:

Law should be English not Aussie.
North is an Aussie Kolpak in the game, there is no such thing.
Loye opens in OD and sometimes in FC so he should be an opener.
Marshall and S Crook are down as batsmen, but both are bowling all rounders, leg spin and RFM respectively.

Think ill head to Cricketgames to check that thread out, not a bad effort all round

Kolpak is when a player who is an international, plays for a county, but not as an international. Like the Flower brothers.

because in this case the flower bros are non nationalieties i think. but in most cases because they have european herritage thus not counting as overseas.

what is kolpak
The kolpak ruling allows players from countries with associate trading agreements with the EU to play as non-overseas players. It is not the same as having an EU passport.

Andy Flower is not a Kolpak player, as he has a British passport.
Grant Flower is a Kolpak player though.

Hi Steve.

Does the game have photos in the full version?
I've played the demo. Does much change from there. The actual picture on demo isn't that clear. Is that a demo thing?

You have not played a demo - you played the full version for a trial period. There are no differences between the trial version and the full version.
