Yup. The fact that he handled his pace decline so well and took 5WPM roughly all stages of his career tells me he likely would have adapted

Yeah unparalleled WPI monster, great record v top orders&quality batsmen. Lesser quicks than him succeeded in India. I have no doubt he would have done well there if he got the chance.

My issue with Lillee will always be his record against Windies (WSC included) and Pakistan, but I've no doubt he'd have torn it up in India, He was extremely quick, a master at cutters and a master at swing bowling later in his career, he'd manage. for Reference, I think Ambrose would've been successful in 90s India too.

I am a pretty big Lillee skeptic here but Botham's peak aside, Lillee is just at a different level in this comparison.

'Most other people' including the vast majority of players who played with and against him.

It's fine to say he doesn't have enough showings outside Aus and Eng. But it's silly to assume he is just a failure outside there based on a few scattered tests.

What does Trueman have to do with this comparison? I already debated him about this and he had to make some concessions such as admitting there is little separating them in the WI and basically that Lillee is better away from home.
