How is your season?

Well the season has just finished for New Zealanders, (actually it ended about three weeks ago) and I had a reasonably successful season. Coming into the year primarily as a bowler, the fact that I'm now almost regarded as a batsman is a little odd...in terms of my bowling, I had a shocker but my batting was improving and I managed some decent scores throughout.

My season was pretty poor overall, our team came 6th out of 8 after being 3rd before Christmas.

Contributions wise I took 8 wickets @ 27 (considering I'm opening bowler - not good). I did score 56 in one game though, my best in 1sts. I haven't played for two years so I guess it was to be expected that the bowling would be a bit poor (the batting's always very average), I took 5 wickets in the last two games against the top two teams so I guess I was improving just as the season ended :D .

decent, though I think 7 wides in 6 overs is a bit much
The season just started and That was my first match and I think any one would go for 7 wides in their first game considering that they havee been layed off for long time before the season starts so It was a good decent performance steds, consider more up coming games i will update :)

I haven't bowled a wide in 151 overs

Poor season from myself.

Bowling was good, but bloody unlucky, nobody could play my outswing, meaning I went at 2 an over for the season, but it didn't hit the ****en bat.

Only played the six games.

Batting was at my Number 10 best, 12 runs @ 2 :D

Will it also depends on in what pitch you are playing on,the pitch that we play in The ball turns really alot and The fact that my main line was to ball out side off stumps where my field was set got 7 of the ball wrong which turned the other way but the wicket that I took a classy, the slip was waiting for the catch and the batsman trying to drive just clips the bat and into the hand of the fielder for an easy catch,

I am an off spinner by the way to make it more clear.

My season just got over and was a highly successful one for me. I open the batting for my school both in the U-16s and the League (Open) team. Last year I was a substitute for majority of the season so the promotion was a pleasant surprise. All our matches are 25 over games.

My stats are as follows:-

U-16 .. played 7 matches scoring 430 runs at an average of 140 with 2 hundreds and 2 fifties at a SR of around 138 (without a single six) and I got the batsman of the tournament award although our team finished 3rd out of 8 teams. My highest score was 125*

League.. played 7 games and scored 241 runs at an average of 40 with 2 fifties... Our team came last out of 8 teams in the league with a highest score of 88*..

I still have never hit a six in my life...

I made a decent start to the season on saturday. The top order did well so I ended up 20* off 15 balls and I took 2 catches and a stumping as we won by 12 runs.

Aaagh, bowling rubbish at the moment, and we play the MCC tomorrow.. (Time to unleash the graphite bat and blonde hairdo methinks)..

I could also try "The tongue of Nel" or "Allan Airways" into my celebrations to really hack them off

lol yeah :)
meh its looking crap for us! we got 9 man so far and 2 potential new guys and 1 midseason new guy. but 2 of the 9 man are gone the 1st 2 matches leaves us with 7 and the 2 potential guys might not be done in time with the paperwork(contribution and stuff ) now were calling a friended club because they have guys of the same age as us but not a full team and therefor playing Seniors(with some old lads mixed) so were hoping they can come for 2 match (friday and satday)

I'll get there by Friday if you guys are willing to pay for the airfare and provide accommodation for the weekend! :D

It's the least I can do for our Dutch friends!

I find any amount of sledging worked wonders over there - just cut loose! haha

Then again, if you have any sort of ambition about playing at a higher level I guess the MCC may not be the team to start on.

My club disbanded last year, so no cricket atm. Very frustrating, but probably for the best. Exams are the focus and my knees have been troublesome.

Church sponsored - P.E.C. You probably haven't heard of it. The reason the team disbanded is largely because of lack of funding and some serious rifts between the players and the sponsor - the Church. The team was horrible anyway.

The thing is, my knees actually do hurt. It's especially evident when I play basketball (which I love to play) and they tend to act up when I'm bowling seam/pace.
