Is tomorrow's game going to be a farce? I mean both teams want to lose to draw Ireland and possibly Holland?

Nah doesn't work like that. It actually doesn't matter if you finish first or second in your group; the next stage is based on set teams rather than where you finish. If a team expected to make it through doesn't, their spot is simply replaced by the team that beat them, irrespective of whether that team finished first or second in their group.

ok thats good so it looks like NZ will play Ireland and possible Holland in next round, come on Holland!

The Netherlands need to win, or lose by less than 24 runs if chasing, or not let Pakistan beat them with more than 3 overs to spare. Given this, I think Pakistan are still the team more likely to go through. So the groups would probably be

India, South Africa, West Indies, England
New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ireland

(There's a minnow in each group, so one group isn't too much easier than the other, imo)
:p

However, anything can happen. I'll certainly be cheering for The Netherlands tonight.

The group comprising England, India etc. is much tougher than the other, especially if Holland goes through to join Ireland. It means that SL and NZ virtually get a free passage through to the semis. Hard to take the tournament seriously when they could be inferior to teams knocked out in the other group. It should be a proper Super 8's where each team has to play everyone else.

I agree as it also makes todays game pointless as no points are carried through.

What if SA loses the game? They will be going to the 2nd Group and will make things easier for themselves! :D

No thats not how the group system works. The group positions are decided before the tournament, the only way it can change is if one of the top two teams don't qualify, then the third takes their place.

Still no Vettori. McCullum wins the toss and will have a bowl.

South Africa unchanged but Ryder and Franklin are out injured for NZ. Mills and Diamanti in.

Oh my goodness Mills offers about the same bowling as Franklin (has lately anyway) but so much less with the bat. Ryder for Diamanti isn't even worth talking about.

Pretty big holes in the lineup there.
