Group D - New Zealand, South Africa, Scotland

Not just the minnows who struggle against South Africa's bowling tbf. And Scotland are about the 6th best non-test playing nation.
Exactly, if some of the bigger sides struggle, the smaller ones definately should.

It's not narrow minded, the weaker sides should struggle against the top sides. It's just everyone else seems to have forgotten that so far.

Not sure what more you could expect from Scotland. They are not going to the next WC, they lost to the Afghans and their only county cricketer has top scored for them.

Yeah, they're a fair bit weaker than the Dutch atm, and SA is obviously in a different class to England. So an upset was far less likely this time around.

Well, kind of. Scotland should struggle against South Africa for sure, because that's the worst team in the tournament against the first or second best.

Netherlands against England though, the class difference really isn't too great. Ditto with Ireland-Bangladesh. Would have expected decent matches out of those games.

No doubt, but I've never rated England's T20 game. Just not enough aggression, even more so without KP.

We'll get raped.

We've gone so far backwards in the last 4 years it's unreal. From being the leading associate side in 2005 to only just maintaining our ODI status by the skin of our teeth.

I can't claim to follow Scottish cricket in any great depth, but if you compare our fortunes to those of Ireland since 2005 it's clear that something's going quite wrong at the top in Scottish cricket.
Sadly called it, though in terms of positives we at least gave the Kiwis a fright, even if the match situation was a tad farcical.

Where does Scottish cricket go from here though? Lloyds TSB aren't renewing their sponsorship of the team, we've got an ageing side and there's no World Cup cash to come.

All the positive steps that were taken from 2003-2007 have been pissed away sadly.
