And still will beat India
The ICC have stated that if India qualifies for semi finals in whatever position in Super 8 they will play at Guyana , this is the reason why India picked so many spinners they are the only team with a guaranteed venue for the first knockout stage, it's going to be hard to beat India in Guyana.

Didn’t watch the first innings but mind goes back how well Ronchi kept at times on turning pitches in the 2016 T20 WC. Since then it’s been mostly downhill with glovework in white-ball, though Latham was acceptable enough for a long while.
Is Mitch Hay's glovework pretty good? He must be coming into contention soon. Allen is probably better than Conway with the gloves too imo.

Seriously they did not decide the venues yet?

Hay's SR was 165 last SuperSmash (av 28.33) while Chu's was 169 (av 21).
Chu the better keeper while Hay is the better bat. Seifert had a great year in T20is in 2023 but struggled earlier this year so missed oyt

Has it been pointed out how ****ing stupid it is to turn up to a 'big tournament ' and not play a warm up game?

I'm sure Gary had an excuse though.

Just seen the result.

WTF? Seems like none of the major teams want to win this cup.

It's astonishing, and especially since most of these blokes have played barely any cricket in the Caribbean in their lives.

Makes you wonder if Colin Munro's seven seasons of CPL (and shedloads of runs) for Trinidad & Tobago might have come in handy. Probably not enough to make up the gulf between the two teams in this game, but still.

This side was picked in 2022.

I am not sure there is even an ice cream flavour bland, dull and conservative enough to describe Gary Stead.

That's a good point, forgot about that tour, sorry. But still, those six games are the only ones we've had there since 2014.

And looking back at that tour now, the T20s were all at Sabina Park, which isn't a World Cup venue. So there's a fair bit of unfamiliar territory involved, and I would have liked to see us at least try to prepare ourselves a bit better.

Shameful.

Honestly, I think the side is due for a cleanout. Almost none of these guys should go to SL in November especially not the Test players, who should probably go straight home after the India Tests & hopefully play the last round of early season PS before playing England.
