Because your love-interest, the I$C$C cares about money and not necessarily what is best for the game. People shouldn't be so upset at India. They got outplayed by a better team one day - and lost to a more disciplined team another. It's really quite simple. India are simply not a good team. It happens.

hhhmm...i think most sports do that too...but thing is the icc doesn't organize it...it will be india who'll and the icc will just look at it and say ok go ahead...but there isn't really a better way for the format to go to see india qualify for the next round than in this...so why change it? its whining like this from the big teams that take out the good/interesting formats of the tournaments...they always want the same boring format where only the top goes through...knockout format for ct was out because the aussies whined and now this will probably be out because india whined

bermuda is the outcast of the tournament but still at least the qualified before namibia...its a good achievement for them to even qualify for the tournament looking at the size of their island/population

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that the ICC are the one's who set the format and say which team is in which group.

Otherwise we'd have seen the Windies in a group with Bermuda, Canada and Scotland, whilst Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka or similar were in another group.
