I love how the Australia vs Scotland game is likely to determine England's fate. Australia don't even have to lose it, just win while not damaging Scotlands NRR so it remains above England's

Imagine, Scotland make 120 and Australia make 100 in 10 overs, then take 9 overs to score last 21 to win. This would piss England off for years 😀
This is so weak. Aussies talk about toughness in sport but here you are talking about fixing a game so you don't have to contend with us later in the tourney. Soft Softcock

If oz/scot is rained off, it wont matter what england do against oman and namibia, theyd be out.

So far it looks as if the pitches have helped the bowlers more this WC, except in the 2 games england have played where their
bowlers have largely looked ineffective. maybe they need to rethink their approach.

Saying nothing about captain and coach, I said it all during the world cup in India and got slagged off for it.

We are never winning this competition and are a rainy day away from an exit in the group stage from probably the weakest group.

England are lucky rain saved them from Scotland tbh. They were getting pummelled there. If not for the washout they'd be 0-2

I think we’d have chased 110 against Scotland tbh, but it would have been a close run thing.

Quite the victory by the Scots good boost to their NRR, puts pressure on the Dodgers. They will hope they dont lose to badly against Australia

Completely forgot Brandon Mcmullen existed. He's 100% a player to watch going forward. Just a quick summary of what he's done so far:
Made 364 runs at an average of 50 and SR of 90, and took 13 wickets @17.5 and an econ of 4.5 when scotland came within a hair's grasp of qualifying for the 2023 ODI wc. In the must win game vs netherlands he 106(110) and took 1/67. Unfortunately De leede smashed a fast 100 and took 5fer so his efforts don't get remembered. In the same tournament also made 69(106) and took 3/32 to help scotland upset the west indies.

Made 68(35) vs Ireland in the recent EURO qualifiers to help scotland make this tournament, and today made 61*(31) to get them a huge NRR win vs oman's and basically guarantee scotland a place in the super 8's. He's a phenomenal cricketer, hope he continues to develop.

I've done some NRR calculations:

If Scotland lose by 1 run to Australia, their NRR would drop to 1.33. This should therefore be the target NRR England should aim for from their remaining two matches to mean that Scotland must beat Australia to go through (and prevent any kind of wanky behaviour).

To do this, they need to beat Namibia and Oman by a combined 116 runs if batting first, or chase in 28 overs across the two if batting second. Personally, I think if they win the toss they should bat first and aim to go big, easiest way to make a bid dent in NRR.....which looks very achievable against Oman judged on what we saw yesterday.
