Yeah, one batsman less will be great right now.
Thakur's value add with the bat doesn't cancel out how much he bleeds with the ball. Siraj or a proper bowler will score less runs, but make up for that with better bowling.

Thought Sundar was limited value bat in t20s? Don't know who Tilak is ?

Former India U-19, has done well in IPL and SMAT. Solid T20 numbers. Can bowl. Might be in out of his depth but worth a punt.

Siraj is actually worse than Shardul as a T20 bowler. Tilak Verma can probably debut in NZ after this WC. Would let Hardik lead the side then.

India is actually in good shape, the tricky pitches of MCG and Perth are behind them and should now thrive on the pitches for the remainder of the tourney.

Edit: Just saw Zim game is at MCG but most likely they would have qualified for the Semis by the time this game is played.

Is Ashwin the most pointless LOI cricketer? Don't ever recall him giving one match winning performance in the white ball format.
Weirdly he first made his mark in IPL and debuted for India in limited overs. But yes, for almost a decade he has done nothing of note. I will definitely play Axar ahead of him.

EDIT: Ashwin last won an MoM award in limited overs international in 2016.

You're all worrying too much. You're in the semi finals, and once there it's a lottery anyway.

The format is so up and down by its nature that if you have two batsmen fire, you basically win or at worst are really competitive. India has to win two more games and they take it out. Won't matter if you pick your strongest team in history to play, if some comparative nobody has a day out and takes you for 80(45) or takes 3/10 you're losing anyway. Same goes for everyone.

It's why it's a fun format I suppose - the shortness of it brings sides closer.

Yeah and I also think it is why I prefer the variation in conditions as well. You dont want every game to be played in similar conditions. And we are already seeing that LO batting in Australia at this time of the year requires a slightly different skillset than regular T20 batting. In a way, not playing in prime season has made it more winnable for India, at least, IMO.
