Whether or not Australia have the right lineup, a lot of the 'bad batting' Australia are doing is just the pressure of chasing a massive score.

Firstly a lot of credit just has to go to Allen and Conway, though Australia might wonder if they can do better than Cummins' bowling imo.

Yeah it is worth pointing out that they wouldn't be batting this way if they were chasing 160, which is closer to a par score on this pitch, rather than 200. This game was lost well back.

Some of it is for sure, they're going at <7rpo

When I say "on paper" I don't mean their career stats, and I mean how good they should be right now. Finch and Starc are terrible on paper by my definition.

Disagree that Warner is past it though at this level
That's two very important players. Warner is not done, but he's clearly on the decline. Marsh is out of position, Stoinis is generally useless (though he bowled pretty well tonight) and David is very untested. Haze and Zampa are the only two bowlers I have faith in atm.

I don't have a problem with the guys getting caught on the boundary, that's not what I'd call the bad batting

Stoinis and David struggling to even get defensive shots from spinners right on the other hand

Australia are embarrassingly bad.

Good to see Cricket Web's very own Jimmy Neesham having a night out in the field though.

What in Aus performance's recently has been better though? I think we'd seriously struggle to reach 160. Probably at least 15 too many.
