While I'm on a roll, Maxwell playing the switch hit every 2 or 3 balls is ****ing done and I'm over it. He does it even when they have fielders back and he's getting 1 at best. Dumb shot

It would seem to me that perhaps the selectors should acknowledge that they basically only won the last WC because Finch won coin tosses and just rip the whole team apart and put it back together. Really that just means dropping an all-rounder (Stonis) for a batter but still.
One problem is Starc and Cummins. I think Starc hasn't played a domestic T20 for well over 5 years at this point and even though his record used to be insane in T20 cricket, I wonder if we're at a point that being away from domestic T20 leagues so long is impacting his performances. Cummins is Cummins. But I think the replacement options are Agar and Richardson so uh.

On paper is silly though. The fact is Aus' strongest paper players (Starc, Warner, Finch, Maxwell) are well and truly past their best.
Though Maxwell is doing okay so far.

When I say "on paper" I don't mean their career stats, and I mean how good they should be right now. Finch and Starc are terrible on paper by my definition.
Disagree that Warner is past it though at this level

Be nice if the other Richardson was around, and Ellis should have got a lot more of a go.
Also I'm not a fan of Cummins as ODI captain, because IMO he's likely to be no more than third best pace bowler most of the time and thus most replaceable.
