sighsJose Andrade.
So, 35.Older than Root but younger than Rohit is all you're getting
You're closer to retirement than your prime.
So closer to Rohit than Root??You're closer to retirement than your prime.
Is 40s young nowadays?btw gonna sound like an old coot saying this but reading the writeups and countdowns of DoG’s bat and bowler threads and his methodology would be an awesome experience for you young whippersnappers @sayon basak @Johan @DrWolverine @capt_Luffy
Just ignore most of the shitposting and arguing between each player
Young in terms of membership duh kiddoIs 40s young nowadays?
like with BothamStats alone do massive injustice to Trumper tbh.
isn't the stats the result of a player's performance?Stats alone do massive injustice to Trumper tbh.
If struggling with several health conditions is his fault, then sure.isn't the stats the result of a player's performance?
and if there is any injustice in that then it's the player who did the injustice with his talent
Yeah he is very underrated. But don't expect everyone to rate him in the top 10. The PEWS Ranking had Chanderpaul at 13, DoG had Chanderpaul at 20; So, based on that, should we also rank Chanders in the top 20?Ken Barrington makes it to the top 10 on pretty much everyone list but no one rates him highly.
Chanderpaul's the only batsman I've seen who I'm convinced just consciously played for his average every time he went out to bat. As a result he has a pretty average. Any analysis based primarily on average is going to over-rate him.Yeah he is very underrated. But don't expect everyone to rate him in the top 10. Tbh, That could be said about Barrington too. Barrington was a dashing strokeplayer early in his career but when he was dropped by England, he vowed to get back in the side by never giving his wicket away so easily ever again.Chanderpaul's the only batsman I've seen who I'm convinced just consciously played for his average every time he went out to bat. Barrington was a slow scorer and he over-performed in Tests but he wasn't just trying to rig the system.
Chanderpaul has many holes in his record.Yeah he is very underrated. But don't expect everyone to rate him in the top 10. The PEWS Ranking had Chanderpaul at 13, DoG had Chanderpaul at 20; So, based on that, should we also rank Chanders in the top 20?
This makes me respect him even more. He found a chink in his armour, repaired it and went one to become arguably the toughest batsman to dismissTbh, That could be said about Barrington too. Barrington was trying to maximise his run-scoring. What Chanderpaul did was a whole other level - when batted with the tail he'd deliberately take singles to get them on strike so he could finish with not outs. He also refused to bat above 5 late in his career for presumably the same reason. I don't think either of those accusations have been levelled at Barrington - just "scored slowly, wasn't that great in county cricket".Tbh, That could be said about Barrington too. I never realized it was that bad, I apologize for comparing Barrington to him.Barrington was trying to maximise his run-scoring.
