That’s natural.

To someone who has never watched a player play, it will be hard cold stats.

To someone who has watched a certain player play, there is always an emotion attached.

I watched Jayasuriya go berserk in mid 1990s so I will always have a soft corner for him.

I saw Sachin Tendulkar at his peak in the 1990s play knocks like Desert Storm or his performance in 1996 WC so it will be extra special for me.

Someone who has only heard or read about it will never understand how instead of going for a draw, Sachin trying for a win was special.
