I'd still like an explanation for how the game allows some teams to get as many good youth pulls in 3-4 seasons as other teams get in 13+ seasons.
It makes the game really unbalanced. I expect to see Walkinshaw Wasps in Youth Div. 1 very soon with the run they've had.

Got one of those over 25k rated youth pulls today. First in a long time. And with one talent which will match up quite nicely with him. I'll train fielding to ~reasonable then put him on batsman/keeper.

Another interesting youth pull today.
Reasonable batting, reasonable power, ordinary bowling.... everything else is atrocious or dreadful. RHB, RM and Old Ball Bowler trait.
With the boost to batting and power it seems sensible to just put him on fielding training until tech and field catch up a bit.

Continued with the same trend for youth pulls. 15k and of no use whatsoever.
I am down to 16 youths in my squad with a couple to leave over the next 2 weeks. Currently bidding on a 16 year old bowler to boost the squad, but we really need bats and there aren't any that are decent and 16 on the transfer market at the moment.
We also have limited funds due to the fact we have to buy 90% of our players because our youth pops are ****ed.

My main team has a minimal academy, and my affiliate has lavish, YP quality is night and day different:

I'm keen to boost my main academy more, but after my original team went bot, I figured no academy and market was the best way to catch up from scratch. Affiliate I'm trying homegrown (no TM - not even for selling!)

I have a lavish academy for my main team and am still getting ****ed in the arse on youth pulls.
Meanwhile, old mate who has 24 homegrown youths in his squad, with around 90% of them being very useful or better at 1.1 level, pulled this guy today:
The balance seems way out of whack. This guy has been pulling an average of 5 good to great youth pulls a season for 4 and a half seasons straight to get to this point. More decent youth recruits than I have had in 13+ seasons.
To be fair, his academy is another level higher than mine, but being at lavish and getting nothing for it is just a waste of money. I've been paying FTP membership for a while now, but I am out after this one runs out.

A couple of atrocious collapses in that match, really. Wouldn't be betting on either team in the future tbph.

Considering you're playing this seasons easy beats in the next two rounds @HeathDavisSpeed you should have the 2nd spot sewn up. White Hats would have to throw their final matches I think to not take out top spot.
I've got the interesting possibility of making the top half of the league based on next week's outcome. Chicken stranglers and trigger gs are playing each other, and in the final week I'm playing chicken stranglers while trigger gs play white hats. For all three of us 3rd position is possible.

Managed to buy a decent youth spinner yesterday I think. Unfortunately, when I ducked back in to make my final bids before the auction finished, I forgot to switch to my affiliate team, so my main team now has a spinner they didn't know they were getting.

Played the role of spoiler beautifully today with 3rd locked in for both of my teams in their respective Youth 1.1 leagues.
My Aussie team beat the team above me, which was tied for 1st going into the last round. Rolled them for 110 and got the runs 3 down. They would have had to do the same to me to have a chance of winning due to being behind on NRR and the other team they were tied with winning, but we dusted them.
My Scottish team was up against the team in outright first, and we got up in the last over with a 6 off the 3rd last ball followed by a couple of singles. A win by 3 wickets. Unfortunately, the team I beat has a lower NRR than the team coming second, who won, so they have now fallen to 2nd. Sadly, the team that won always wins this league, so I have essentially helped them to keep that going when I could have put up the worst team I have and we would have seen a different winner...but then the team I beat has 19/19 youth players who are home grown when I struggle to get 5 or 6, so they can go **** themselves.
So many teams flourishing with youth academy picks...the guy who came first has 20/22 homegrown, and they are all quality.
I have 8 in my Scottish team. Two in my first 11, and of the other 6, 2 are probably not going to be any good, but I kept them because I hadn't had a new youth player for ages.

Managed to jump into 3rd place based on a better nrr versus the other 2 teams on equal points. Won both youth leagues which was expected since we were in division 4.

Nice one. We'll do battle again next season, hopefully. Both with very similar ratings at the moment too, so they should be cracking fixtures.
Losing both games to White Hats by a combined 35 runs was a shame. Such a narrow margin between promotion and stagnation.

I think my games with them were very similar. I get the feeling white hats kind of stole the league this year, but kudos to them.
