Hall is only included because he seems to have some really good peer reputation
On this, I see that @JBMAC is the only poster to vote for the big fella so far and he's one of the few posters to have (possibly) seen all three in the pomp.

I wonder if he has any wisdom to impart?

Cricketer Of The Year
I saw Wes Hall in action and he was a fine bowler but, statistically, not outstanding - apart from 3 series. Those series were in India and Pakistan in 58/59 when he took 46 wickets @ 17.76 and against India in the WI in 61/62 when he had 27 wickets @ 15.74

Take those performances against 2 developing cricket nations and, against established cricket nations Australia and England plus a one-off Test against NZ, he took 119 wickets @ 32.13 which hardly puts him in the same league as Trueman and Lindwall.

Fred Trueman was without a doubt the best opening bowler for England He was quick and "angry" as a player meaning he had the ability to lift not only his own performances but of others around him as well with this attitude. He seemed to bowl best in tandem with Brian Statham from what i saw.

Ray Lindwall in partnership with Keith Miller i would compare with the likes of Lillee/ Thompson. Yes he was quick but there was some suspicion at times over his action and his tendency to overstep. without being called for it.

Wes Hall was definitely the second fastest bowler i have ever faced(Thommo was the fastest). I only ever faced him in the nets but he was bloody quick and his record (stats) do not do him justice. Tremendous fielder and always smiled at you making you feel very uncomfortable. A good team man and motivator. Thats why I rated him the best of the three.

Thought it was a walk in for Lindwall. Will have to look into Trueman a bit more then. Both great bowlers for sure.

This is the best flex in CW history tbh. Just casually dropping in the reference to having faced both those blokes. Love it.

I'm surprised by the number of people shitting on Hall here. I think he was quicker than the other two. Trueman is the best of this lot obviously but that's probably down to his consistency.

I always find myself wondering how the bowlers of that era would do if they were playing in the 90s or whatever, and the footage available of them always makes me skeptical if they're really able to swim in the mustard if there was a time machine around. Both Trueman and Lindwall don't really seem to be sprinting in or anything and I think they're probably dependent on their actions to generate the pace they do. Even if I compare them with someone like Pollock, who wasn't the quickest bowler around or anything, I don't always feel they are purposeful enough in their movements to generate really good pace. I don't have too many doubts about Hall though, he was quick for sure.
