Tsunoda and Albon man, that was just, unlucky for both I feel.

Magnussen driving for his life recently, Haas doing so well.

Great job from Sainz. Merc just sadly off the pace. Piastri was a lot slower than expected.

Good for Gasly to get a point.

Lawson and Colapinto have been interesting these past two races. Both running long one stops, Lawson having an advantage in the first stints but Colapinto holding out a few more laps and having an advantage in the second stints. Still unsure of how I view that one between them, only saw one replay.

And of course rip Alonso.

Verstappen needs a big big crash to learn some consequences. Today was just stupid.

Lawson and Colapinto are speed running antagonizing every older driver on the grid and it's very entertaining. Perez collapsed today. Should never have been fighting an overpriced fizzy drink Minardi in the first place.

They (and Piastri) are never going to be saved by old money or western European/Japanese patriotic engine manufacturers who hand out little bum pats to drivers from their countries so they've chosen violence and I love it.

I still don't think Liam will last long term because I suspect even of kiwis McLaughlin would beat him on pure pace (and SVG and Dixon on craft), and our generational goat Dixon will forever be a what if in F1, but I'm here for what he's cooking. This is a very different Lawson to last year.

Also this is setting up such a nice battle for the constructors with 4 races and 2 sprints to go and gap down to 29 points only now. If McLaren lose this to Ferrari... Looooollllll

True, it's more if I had to choose an NZer before Austin it wouldn't have been Lawson.

Reading the reddit pile on to his driving, none of these people would cope supporting their favourite F1 driver in another series. Especially any touring car.

lol. Like I said I haven’t looked again at the Colapinto/Lawson one but the Perez and Alonso ones were perfectly fine, in fact Perez was being an idiot against him.

I saw a quote from Checo saying he doesn’t have the right attitude.

Apparently these guys expect the new young talent to just pull over for them, especially if they’re not in a top team. Its ridiculous.

This is why Verstappen was so exciting as a youngster too. This is what we want to see. The next generation actually taking it to these established guys.

Horner wants fast (but not too fast) and servile. Barrichello, Bottas, Coulthard etc. He doesn't want to risk someone actually racing Max, regardless of whether they're good enough or not, because Max is Horner and Marko's son. That's why they didn't sign the obvious choice in Sainz.

I think Brown had Coulthard hopes for Piastri but to his credit is letting the situation play out.

None of these kids appear to have a compliant bone in their bodies and tbh its a fundamental lack of knowledge of world sporting culture outside western Europe and America if they thought an Australian, a kiwi and an Argentine were going to be happy as a #2. It's not going to get any better next year with even more rookies sending it.

Red Bull should just sign Bottas. He'll put the car where it should be in qualy and Max doesn't need a rear gunner in defense because he is the projectile.

Yeah Perez was the obvious choice at the time but Bottas would be perfect for that role.

Yeah I have no idea, was Sainz ever even considered? It was so obvious that after the Hamilton signing he was the best driver on the market.

I would kinda love it if Red Bull leave themselves high and dry if Max leaves because they wouldn’t sign quality drivers to compete with him.

No he wasn't, Sainz was.

Perez was on his way out of F1 until he fluked a win at Sakhir and Red Bull made an arse of their driver management. The fact he's lasted so long at Red Bull despite his incompetence is baffling when you look at how the likes of Gasly and Albon were treated.

He was pretty solid and the dropping was because Stroll obv wouldn't be dropped. It was harsh.

Sergio had a good rep before moving to Red Bull. It was an error to pick him though if they wanted a compliant #2. He's either fast and scrappy or slow and moody, and I think his pace is directly linked to realizing he can't beat Verstappen across a season in the twitchy RB.

Hulkenberg is another they should have properly considered.

Ofc Max doesn't want it to change. He is only cared about his world championship and only Lando stands in his way. Lando has a got a faster car atm and hence Max's best strategy is to sabotage Lando's race and hope Ferrari take the W, which will cause a lower points gap between himself and Lando.

Lando could do himself a big favour by qualifying faster, and when he does so, make sure he's well ahead of Max at the first bend. Maybe clear off into the distance and let the others squabble with Max.

I wonder if Max would still do it if that were the case? If he risks going off but not taking Lando with him then it's a whole difference points story.

Definitely so, Lando has been underperforming in the McLaren which has allowed Verstappen to do all this. If he takes pole and sails off into the lead, Max wouldn't have any other choice then but to maximize his own points

I know Piquet won the championship and his team was 3rd in 83. And Rosberg won in 82 with his team in 4th.

We could be looking at something similar here.

Another potential record equalled could be if Sainz and Piastri continue their relative form and Lando stays ahead of Charles, Ferrari could potentially win the WCC despite not having a top two driver (also happened in 1983).

Got to be honest, I find it hard to see Verstappen and McLaren not winning the respective titles, although the latter could do with Piastri pulling his finger out a little.
