Got to be honest, I find it hard to see Verstappen and McLaren not winning the respective titles, although the latter could do with Piastri pulling his finger out a little.
The gap is down to 29 pts in the constructors with 4 races and 2 sprints to go. Anything is possible there

True, but don't think they can keep on benefitting from the Big 2 squabbling with each other. If Max stops driving like a **** it will damage the hopes of Ferrari.

I reckon he will for the next 4 races anyway. He can just drive around safely for 2nd or 3rd places and get the job done.

Next year could be carnage though when he's not in a dominant car.
Does he get those 2nd/3rd places though? By the looks of it, currently both McLaren and Ferrari have faster cars than Red Bull. Norris, Leclerc and Sainz could all be finishing ahead of Max and Piastri too if he gets back to form. Getting top 3 is not a certainity for Max now.

As much as I don't want Verstappen to win, the last 4 races (+ 1 sprint) have given only a 15 point gain to Norris (Verstappen 59 points to Norris 74 points)

To get the 48 points needed in 4 races (+ 2 sprints) he's going to need at least one main race dnf by Max

Or Norris winning 3/4 races at least with Max not on the podium. Max finishing 4/5th would decrease the gap by 13/15 each race. The rest of the points could be covered in the 4th race and 2 sprints theoretically

Yeah I know in theory anything is possible, however to think Norris can win 3 of the last 4 races is a bit unrealistic with Ferrari improving so much (they've won 3 of the last 5 with both drivers firing)

A better question would be can Leclerc get the 25 points over Norris to take 2nd

Easily given the gap between 1st and 2nd.

McLaren hobbled Norris with their dumb calls in Hungary and Italy, Norris has blown it with his last 2 races.

Said it here before, but Sainz honestly deserves better than bloody Williams for next year

Especially when Mercedes will have a foetus in one of their cars. It's not that I don't believe Antonelli is talented, just think rushing him through really isn't wise
Should’ve been blooded at Williams like Russell probably.

Also am feeling quite bad for Colapinto. Reckon he deserves a driver next year. Even if it means Bottas doesn’t get the second Sauber seat.

Agreed on both counts

Colapinto has done a lot to suggest he is worth investing in, wasn't initially sold when he first got the Williams drive on the basis his junior record was merely good as opposed to excellent, but he has been genuinely impressive ever since getting that seat. Really hope he can get a proper full season in F1, even if it isn't next year

There's a persistent rumour tonight that Red Bull have made Colapinto an offer.

I don't read into junior records too much because loads of guys have very different trajectories after F3000/GP2/F2, and F2 is a spec series with spec engines and car reliability in the same way Steyn and Dinda are both fast bowlers, but I've heard Colapinto in context of his funds and performance against team mates has a good junior record.

In the end you want the best 25 year old not the best 20 year old. Different series, but Courtney, Lowndes and Davison spent a decade getting champed by Whincup (who was ****ing outstanding in formula Ford tbf. Just lacked euro money).
