England. The lesser of two evils, one feels.

To be fair, I don't mind England. I get the feeling that they are kind of the Rain Man to our Charlie Babbitt. I can't hate them! :D

Nil all draw FTW, with no centuries, no 5-fors, lots of left arm spin pitched outside leg to Tendulkar and heaps and heaps of 8-1 fields by India for England.

Only that way can Test cricket see off the threat of T20 really.

After the 2006-07 Ashes, I couldn't. Just like I could never bring myself to beat the down syndrome kid at marbles in primary school.
Look, I understand all that.

But when we have thoughts like that we must always remember Bodyline, the Fusareum (sp.?) debacle, not holding an Ashes series in 79-80 when we pizzled them, the Murray Mints infamy without which the Ashes would never have left their rightful home and Churchill wanting to keep our troops in the Middle East instead of giving them back so we could defend Australia.

No chip on my shoulder here of course, just an objective look at history

Anyway this is a particularly interesting question. I try to put myself in the shoes if these series' were the other way around, and without doubt I'd always support India. Not only do I pretty well invariably support them at home, other than when they're playing SA or India, but for a good few years I've generally preferred to see Australia lose in the subcontinent than win or draw.

If I were an Australian fan, I'd imagine I'd want India to beat England comfortably, as it'd emphasise that Australia's defeat hadn't been anything as major as it would look had England done better. But then again I've long since exorcised the "if someone's just beaten us I want them to lose everything for a while" syndrome, and plenty still harbour it.

Why?

Australia thrashed SL who beat India who look like beating Australia

Who wins this series is largely irrelevant to the shambles that has been the current Australian tour

I've said it a few times recently - I'd be extremely disappointed if they didn't.

Real shame Aus don't tour SL any time soon.

By the way Richard, am I allowed to vote on this poll? You've done a great job of determining my nationality for me in the past; I figured I should ask for your consent.
