Here is an attempt with 0 points and minus points. You have a max of 10 and you can spend 12 (effectively 14 as you can have minus 2). Also the highest fielding rating is dropped to 27, thats what keepers sign up with and they seem to be doing a fine job now.Loony BoB said:I noticed that Vimes uses negative points for batting and bowling. He should do the same with fielding - 12 or 15 being 0 points.
Well they currently sign up with 27 don't they? Also if you increase it to 39, with that system they can have batting averages of 21, which people say is too high for a gun keeper.Robertinho said:I don't think those are half bad, keepers might need higher than 27 fielding though?
Say someone like Liam makes a table of about 100(more/less?) players with pre-set averages and have an order of registered/unregistered Dev league members(maybe chronologically ordered from CW joining date) to pick which set of averages they would like to have, heres a small example using only 5 membersRobertinho said:Please explain?
Well that is kind of possible if you increase the highest fielding rating to 39.Robertinho said:Tharmi's idea does look good, but maybe keepers should have a different sign up thing? They'll have to compromise - gun keeper, dud bat - dud keeper, gun bat - good keeper, good bat. I think for a reasonable keeper, 25-30 is the highest batting should go. For a shoddy keeper, maybe 30-35, and for a gun keeper, as in world class in your rookie season, 10-15 (possibly up to 20).
A part time keeper are generally as good as a first slip, so i think its fine. Also it seems we need better quiality fielders to come through, there seems to be too many Drop Catches.Robertinho said:Hmm, should part time keepers really be as good batsman as specialist batsmen?
In the sim, 27 won't even make them a keeper.Robertinho said:I don't think those are half bad, keepers might need higher than 27 fielding though?
Never mind.NZTailender said:Just some thoughts. Sorry if they've been suggested and/or stupid.
