I rather enjoyed watching NZ play, though.. Of course Australia winning it ruins everything.
There has been some great individual performances but just not enough close games for it to be really good tournament. Don't think that is a fault of the regulations or anything is just one of those things.

the quarter finals being mostly rubbish as contests didn't help. the group stages were fine.

mini-southee has bowled so bloody well thus far. really deserved that wicket. warner wanted a huge piece of him early then realised he's the goods.

not that the commentators have said a word..

It's weird because the close ones we've had (NZ vs SA, NZ vs Aus in the group, Afg vs Scotland) were all absolutely exceptional. Otherwise it's been one sided trash.

Who knows, the attack of Boult, Henry & Milne might be ticket in ODIs in Aus in the future.

i wonder if that's the major downside of the new regulations, they lead to massive blowouts in one direction or the other

I guess the influence of T20 has contributed to this. Tactics are to set yourself up for a blast at the end. It's much higher risk so if you pull it off you win easily when your opponent fails vs the old method of consistent 6-8 an over with lower risks.
