This and the last WC finals' endings have told a story. The last one ended with India's 2 greatest ODI finishers taking us home and this one has been about Australia's present and future captains taking them home and signalling the beginning and end of an era. And Clarke gets out before I am done typing the post. **** him.

Such an interesting ODI career trajectory for Clarke. Obviously he's always been worth his spot in the team but I think he was a really great ODI player when he was younger, got significantly worse in ODIs as he improved his test play.

In other news, Watson hitting the WC winning runs would be the best.

last few years he showed glimpses of the player he could have been, scored rapid knocks with ease - just barely played

he was pretty great in ODers from 2011 imo. But obviously he missed a lot too
