Thank the Cricketing Lord that ****** Umpire didn't ruin the final.
That first ball from Archer was never a wide.
That first ball from Archer was never a wide.
Probably would have got bowled next ball anyway. In hindsight, Guptil should have left that ball. Would have been wide
Don't care. You literally cannot get a more level gameYeah the game was a tie but the World Cup winner was England. The World Cup winner and the winner of the World Cup final are two very very subtly different things.
His shot was weird and I have no idea how he was so far out. He should've actually made it back. Neesham didGuptill definitely choked on the last ball. So did Root.
Wouldnt have an issue with that, I actually thought that was what it was. Most boundaries though, wtf, who cares?!League positions would be the most logical tiebreaker if the Super Over couldn't split it (it's how Australia went through in 1999), yeah.
I agree that sharing the trophy would be unacceptable but I'm not convinced at all by boundaries scored being anything even approximating a good differentiator. England as winner is the right result IMO (assuming we can't just subjectively decide not to give it to them because of the "overthrows") but not for that reason.exactly what was in my mind. ****ing bizarre response from some. the most bizarre being 'it should have gone to the team who lost fewer wickets'.
Except "it should have gone to the team who lost fewer wickets" used to be how limited over games are decided. And in a World Cup football game, if teams finish 5-5 on penalties, they don't declare the winner to be the team that had the most on-goal shots in normal play, they take more penalties.exactly what was in my mind. ****ing bizarre response from some. the most bizarre being 'it should have gone to the team who lost fewer wickets'.
Not straight after the match when England fans are trying to enjoy their victory. Is there actually serious debate about what just happened? England got an extra 4 absurd runs off the 3rd last ball, turning a loss into a tie
Like is this seriously up for discussion
Yeah I said this in an earlier post before the SO. It's always going to favor the team chasing.I also think the super over kinda favoured England in that they were just batting in the same conditions and had their eye in.
Yeah and that's why the game was a tie. You don't have to win the final to win the World Cup though.Don't care. You literally cannot get a more level game
.
It is sport. Sport can be absurd. Is there actually serious debate about what just happened? England got an extra 4 absurd runs off the 3rd last ball, turning a loss into a tie

They have a reserve day tooShould just be a rematch right?
It wasn’t a victory, it was two tiesNot straight after the match when England fans are trying to enjoy their victory.
