it was the shot of a man with no confidence whatsoever. instead of trying to be the hero, he basically decided he just didn't wanna get out and be the villain.Guptill's shot was just odd
It's probably less stupid than boundaries but I still think it's stupid. You could argue total wickets was a better differentiator than boundaries. Still obviously not ideal but it was the common way of deciding ties pre-Super Over.
IIRC not unless the umpire has stopped play, e.g. given a "out" decision, or called for a third umpire review. Otherwise the ball is live.Could have anything been done about the deflection 4 runs from stokes
Yeah if there's a rule change needed it's this. Should be dead ball after hitting the bat or something. 7 off 2 still very doable though.i mean the really colossally unfair thing was the "six". seriously, wtf.
Agreed. Still a **** way to decide though.Rules were clear before the super over.
Haha when Stokes got the 6 off the bat my brother asked why that rule hadn’t been changed and I gave the same answer. Such a long history of waiting until the most embarrassing possible moment to fix obvious flaws in the rules.Nah I think people have heard of it but just didn't really care about it until it decided a World ****ing Cup.
Pretty much ****ing called itJust can't wait for Stokes to hit winning runs. That will make him fume.
By a few country milesThat was an incredible game. Has to be the most dramatic game ever.
Haha I just made a post about this as well.Haha when Stokes got the 6 off the bat my brother asked why that rule hadn’t been changed and I gave the same answer. Such a long history of waiting until the most embarrassing possible moment to fix obvious flaws in the rules.
