No he wasn't.

After the initial selections was banking on any of Lindwall, Donald, Worrell or Faulkner getting through.
I'm amazed that they lasted as long as they did. Even for an 8 man draft lasting until R8/R9 is unexpected.

BTW I was going to select Macartney instead of Faulkner as my pre-WWI player, but hesitated because I wasn't sure how to take him. Overall, he's an excellent batsman, but prior to 1920 he was pretty mediocre. So it depends on the 'spirit' of the Draft I guess. Do we view the player in their entirety, or just the era they were selected for?

This is the best draft format we have used. Both the time allotted and the draft order (which is fair and predictable) should be used in future drafts, probably with the extension of the time to 6 hours. Also 8 to 10 participants are best to keep things moving.

Great Job Monk.

My plans, starting with the Botham pick, were thrown into a bit of a chaos as I missed Dravid being picked up, I think I savaged it pretty well though.

Dynamic team Monk with a couple of nice anchor men at the top. No.8 will be interesting as there are number of class bowlers who could easily fit in there.

As much as i should tick pak of the list i need a genuinely quick bowler to complement Barnes, so Larwood it will be. Also strengthens my tail significantly.
