You weren't the only one.****ers, was certain I would get one of Donald or Lindwall, but thats the nature of the game
No he wasn't.You weren't the only one.
I'm amazed that they lasted as long as they did. Even for an 8 man draft lasting until R8/R9 is unexpected. No he wasn't.
After the initial selections was banking on any of Lindwall, Donald, Worrell or Faulkner getting through.
Entirety of course.I'm amazed that they lasted as long as they did. Even for an 8 man draft lasting until R8/R9 is unexpected.
BTW I was going to select Macartney instead of Faulkner as my pre-WWI player, but hesitated because I wasn't sure how to take him. Overall, he's an excellent batsman, but prior to 1920 he was pretty mediocre. So it depends on the 'spirit' of the Draft I guess. Do we view the player in their entirety, or just the era they were selected for?
Dynamic team Monk with a couple of nice anchor men at the top. No.8 will be interesting as there are number of class bowlers who could easily fit in there. The India criteria is worrying me at this stage so I'll go all class with VVS.
Monk's XI
Len Hutton
Bruce Mitchell
Brian Lara

My plans, starting with the Botham pick, were thrown into a bit of a chaos as I missed Dravid being picked up, I think I savaged it pretty well though.
