Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Fergus O'Neill is going to rip this division up. He's going to get a hatful of test wickets too.
Just came here to post that Notts should sign him long term as he might end up taking hundreds of wickets for them

Oz selectors are a different breed though

Interesting to note that Leicestershire did not use a night watchman yesterday when Budinger was out. Lancashire had used Philip as NWM in both innings against Northants last week in similar situation (half a dozen overs left in the day). Constrasting the positive and negative aspects of the cricketing leadership on view.

Dame Sarah Storey - President of Lancashire CCC since last May - on comms in the afternoon. Shows how much they are investing in the Women's game at the moment. They must be desparate for their women's team to win somethinng, anything. Nothing here:

(2015 Blast win - so good they named it twice)

Ben Compton isn't ***y enough for Bazball but quietly amasses plenty of runs.
If we were going back down the route of more traditional test opener. Surely Alex Davies as newbie would be more deserving.

Compton was behind a host of openers in the runs in last year's div one run scorers. Albeit many previous holders of that slot.

Sibley has started the season in red hot form...

Leicestershire's lead is over 200, Lancs followed on against Northants. Both games at Old Trafford.

Have Lancs forgotten how to bat at their home ground or are they simply neither good enough and a lot worse than the other Division Two sides?

Look like they will end up having to defend to try and avoid losing after desperate previous defence against Middlesex and Northants.

Meanwhile it appears they have an overseas quick who is, for whatever reason, is coming on second change. And taken a loan signing who is first change. Neither trusted with the new ball? Wrong signings? Why isn't even the experienced overseas test bowler good enough to open the bolwing? They could yet become the first ever Lancashire side to finish bottom of the County Championship afterall Benkenstein's last coaching job followed relegation with the wooden spoon.

I assume that england had some say in selection with a rare CC outing for the england trio Mahmood, Turner and Hartley, but pre season favs Lancs in trouble again. Oz players doing pretty well, Handscomb and Green 100s, Doggy and Fergy among the wkts.

Caleb Jewell, for Derbyshire, 61, 51no, 83, 73, 16, 71.
Just needs a century when he's in this form, but a great start by him.

Also good to see Luke Procter finally convert the many 50's he gets into a century this time.
Career best 150, only his 9th 1st class ton.
Great county pro though.

Doubt it. Mahmood has being trying to prove he is getting fit each year for ages. First time he has taken 2 wickets in a championship innings since early 2022 despite playing each year. In his defence dont think Ahmed was good enough for some of Mahmood's better balls.

Think they panicked with Turner and their coach recommended a schoolboy he used to coach back in Sth Africa.
Hartley is their only experienced front line spinner.

All three are only on England's one day radar, surely. If that.

Mismanagement around. I read they not even putting on concerts as promoter is being sued for safety concerns.
