Blenkinsop
U19 Captain
This has literally made my day. Hope he rips through the CC and takes a hundred wickets. I am so going to go to the Roses match this year.

Aren't they in different divisions? This has literally made my day. Hope he rips through the CC and takes a hundred wickets. I am so going to go to the Roses match this year.
Ach, yes I forgot Lancs got relegated.Aren't they in different divisions?
Shame it's division two as Crawley is the only incumbent England player in that division. This has literally made my day. Hope he rips through the CC and takes a hundred wickets. I am so going to go to the Roses match this year.
Stokes, Atkinson, Woakes, Stone, Potts, Bashir and Hull all played CC and Test cricket last summer.Well it's not like any of the incumbent bowlers will send down more than a handful of overs in the CC this year. Can't see Mark Wood playing for Durham at all even if he's fit.
The Sport is heading that direction anywayWhile I agree, It is curious that there is a carve out for white ball only contracts. This distinction could simply encourage more players to go white ball only and ‘have their cake and eat it’.
I absolutely agree but it's still why domestic First-Class cricket around the world has lost a bit of edge. It can be a breeding ground for future test cricketers but you also need these guys showing the next gen what it takes to be a top player/professional.calls to sack him absolutely ridiculous. vince has scored 13k runs for hampshire at 40 over 15 years. absolutely no one can begrudge him looking to cash in during the twilight of his career. he's been a tremendous servant for hampshire.
ecb are just doing their paymasters bidding. this is no great moral stand against the ever increasing franchise calendar.
In fairness you do make an excellent point. Sadly this is the same across the world aside from Australia. The 1st class domestic competition do tend to be inside a 6-8 week window (West Indies, Pakistan etc)This tournament is in April until mid May. It the ECB wasn't shoehorning so much 4 day cricket into the earlier part of the season then players wouldn't have to make these kinds of decisions.
Need no more than 8 first class counties to fit it inside an 8 week window. Double the number of counties and 2 x 8 week windows are needed. In fairness you do make an excellent point. Who will be the 8 sides. England is unique that it doesn't have few states/Provisional teams etcNeed no more than 8 first class counties to fit it inside an 8 week window. Double the number of counties and 2 x 8 week windows are needed.
