In business terms the Lord’s premium can be seen as goodwill based on the value of the name and branding.That Lord's price is looking seriously out of whack with all the others. The London crowds are obviously solid and pay more, but surely that just makes Oval seem like good value. What do they expect to get for their money?
Half of this just seems like a laundering operation.
The valuations as a whole however do seem vastly over inflated for what they are purchasing - the right to host four short-format games per year, without permanent ground, players or staff and for a competition which has a largely casual fan base and which has yet to really establish itself in the popular consciousness.
