English Domestic Season 2024

Depends on the possible point deduction for Essex.

Was talk of Essex losing all the 16 they gained for the win, which if so would put them behind Surrey(when Surrey inevitably take these final 4 Kent wickets with the new ball)

They set precedent when deducting 10 points from Durham in 2022 for same offence.

Durham only picked up 12 points in that game. Took 3 weeks for the ruling on our offence, so imagine Essex will find out in the next week.
What was the offence? Think I missed this whilst on hols.....

Same thing.

Same thing.

Lancs bottom of the table where they deserve to be.

Would love for the series coming up being a cracker. Could you carry an attack of Joseph x2, Roach and Seales?

Duckett, Crawley, Pope and Root haven't had a good start to their season. I'm sure they'd not be salivating at facing that attack.
England vs West Indies is always fun. Hope we have all our bowlers fit and ready. Batting will need to step up.

After Joe Clarke & Will Young broke a very old Notts FC batting record, I thought I would check to see other old partnership records.

I went back to all Pre- Second World War partnership records, so any left before 1939.
Only 1 County has no Pre-second world war partnership records left.
I have excluded Durham for obvious reasons.

Hope you find it interesting, surprised that Middx & Surrey had that many old records still.

Probably no great surprise that the likes of Hobbs and Sutcliffe set records that are not going to be easily beaten....

On 247 we always had a thread about the possibility of someone getting 1k runs by the end of May. I note that Alex Davies has 481, Joe Clarke has 480. I guess the 2 games of Kookaburra have given the prospect of this happening a little more opportunity this year, but I think it is still a tough ask.

Essex used to be the only county with 200+ record stands for each wicket, is that still the case?

Mainly thanks to Peter Smith hitting 163 from number 11 in 1947.
