English Domestic Season 2023

Aye but he's still in their hundred squad as a marquee England player. Each side get a couple of them.

Stokes and Wood won't play a part in the Hundred but listed as absentees for Durham.
Are you sure. See attached. 6th down first column. Not top line. He was listed as drafted at £75,000 as opposed to being a central contracted player allocated (and therefore can't be replaced). Surely they can replace someone taking up a £75k slot!Screenshot 2023-07-26 at 19.17.16.png

found that listing here:
describes Welsh Fire squad as:

Welsh Fire

Retained: Jonny Bairstow (central contract), Joe Clarke, Ollie Pope, David Payne, Jake Ball, George Scrimshaw
Draft picks: Tom Abell, David Willey, Shaheen Afridi, Glenn Phillips, Haris Rauf, Roelof van der Merwe, Stevie Eskinazi, Dan Douthwaite

Answers on a postcard then 🤷‍♂️

Assumed that was the only reason he was in a hundred squad. Seeing as he barely plays T20 now. What a **** pick by the Cardiff team.

Further to add. The fact that the ECB have pissed away all their money on this horrendous competition and not a single one of them players hasn't played in the blast.

I just don't get why they've done it.

Everywhere but Scarbados ended prematurely thanks to rain.

Durham batting well yet again 77/1 from 19.4. Trail by 263.

Lees gets to his 50 with a 6 back over the bowlers head.
My road trip continued to Scarborough today so I struck lucky with the weather. Durham has the best of today however a draw looms given the weather. Lees and Borthwick looked pretty comfortable despite the cloud and poor light. Robinson earlier made an unusual catch off Revis where he caught his own rebound.

Sam Hain will hopefully turn this 60 into a ton. Still averages over 40 in all forms of cricket. Unbelievable he's never been capped by England.

It was mental he never got picked in that 2021 Pakistan ODI series with all the COVID drop outs.

But Root/Malan play the same role as him so he's just unfortunate.

I may be a little late to the party, but surely there can't be too many other instances that 2 batsmen get dismissed for 99 in the same innings

If I had been a young batsman with test aspirations in the last few years I would have asked my county to open, or bat no3. That is where the vacancies were.

Three centuries for Lancs: Wells, then Bohannon (888 runs in Div 1 and counting 3rd highest in Div 1 behind Rew & Westley) and then Salt 100 in 74 balls. Just behind Jamie Smith's 70 ball fastest this season.

377 runs in the day - in only 67 overs after delayed start due to rain. Started 2pm. Batting paradise, even Northants managed 2 batting points in their innings.

Anyone else heard the rumours about Jordan Cox signing for Essex? Wondering if it might be because he went to Felsted School who have long been in a cricket partnership with Essex.

That's what I heard. Personally wouldn't mind if they get rid of Rossington, he should just go and be a t20 mercenary if he can't be bothered getting into shape.

Oh for eff's sake, I thought the whole point of Robinson leaving was that he couldn't keep. Cox has been keeping all season.

I'm hearing the final day at Scarborough may be called off due to the amount of rain that fell yesterday.

Hoping for some play but a draw would be acceptable for Durham.

It's now official, he is joining Essex.
And Kent let Ollie Robinson go to Durham as they had Billings (When does he ever play ) and Cox who could keep, what a disaster.
