Knew Patel's dirty left armers would have the pitch to thank. Wouldn't bring Patel into the test team and time soon either. Just as loose as Morgan is. I wouldn't look much further than Taylor if we did want to drop Morgs.

Looked like a really good match, absolute travesty for them to be docked points. I'd much rather see the complete roads get docked than a pitch like that - we should be encouraging groundsmen to make result pitches, even if they go a bit far, not scaring them off from doing so. Ridiculous.

It's the "oh-noes, the pitch took spin, therefore it must have been a **** pitch" attitude that really annoys me.

I'll bet if a curator prepared a green pitch that allowed some medium paced trundler to take a bag of wickets no-one would bat an eyelid.

Quite. I remember a conversation many years ago with a guy complaining about the Oval taking spin from Day 1 to suit Saqlain & Salisbury, and I made exactly the same point to him. Not that I got very far in terms of persuading him, tbh.

Was clearly desperate measures preparing a pitch to take a lot of turn from day one but think enough runs were made to avoid a deduction, does not make a great deal of difference anyway are going down regardless
