Would you say otherwise, incidentally?
are you talking to me?

I wouldn't say anything regarding England's chances in 2008 as that's a distance off. A lot can happen between now and then. I would say they're a better team than last time though.

I was referring more to the fact camel agreed with you as 'something to tell my kids about', but there's some sort of answer anyway just in case.

In the next 2 or 3 years, I won't be amazed to see an everyone-can-beat-everyone situation arising.
With the obvious exceptions ie Australia still beating everyone.
:D

Nah, I'm mildly hopeful of a competitive series this summer, I'm not hopeful of a victory but all the Ashes in my recent memory have been pure thumpings so just a respectable series where England sometimes play at their very best and we can be compared to Australia properly.

Your kindly edited quote missed the point - I was referring not to Australia beating everyone but everyone beating Zimbabwe and Bangladesh!!!!!
We've been hoping for a respectible series (or even better) in at least 3 of the last 4 - and we've thought we've got good reason to hope for it before, too.
Until the series starts (and until England buck the trend of the last 3 series of hitting the ground stumbling and tripping) I'm not going to get my hopes too high!

I know what you were referring to.
I was saying it doesn't take rocket-science to work-out that Australia are big favoritos next summer but that their dominance can't last for too much longer - so agreeing on that isn't really much to :-O about.
I was asking if you disagreed that Australia were big favourites for next summer?

How on earth will you be able to tell whether a fellow Internet-forum member has eaten his computer or not?
"He's not posting anymore, he must have died from eating his computer". Foolproof.

A nice gentle warm-up against Bangladesh should get the players into form.

IMO its highly unlikely that england will win the ashes next year, unless flintoff pulls off a botham-esque performance. their best chance will be in the ashes series in australia.

I have to agree with basically everyone here; there is no chance England will win this time around. In Australia, however, we'll most definetely be without McGrath, Warne, Langer, Hayden, Martyn, Gilchrist, Lehmann, Kasper, and possibly Ponting and Gillespie. So that's basically everyone except Lee, Katich and Clarke. In other words we would probably be in trouble.

Amazing, England win 10 out of the last 11 Tests and they're being written off against Australia already - no waiting to see what happens against SA even. If either side get a couple or so injuries it would make a huge difference.

have you even been watching australia play of late?
do you see any weak links in their bowling or batting attack?
seriously if anybody is going to enjoy english conditions, its mcgrath, gillespie, kaspa and warne.

The english conditions weren't particularly great for seamers this year and there wasn't much bounce either for a warne. It's kinda unlikely that attack is gonna play every Test without getting injured anyway - missing those bowlers would make a big difference as shown before.
