The Ben McKinney hype train keeps going -https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/cx27511ewgxo- surely we're not picking an opener with 11 FC games under his belt at an average under 40. Give him a couple of seasons.

Durham were supposedly told to start playing him last season. As we used Borthwick as an opener for a large part of the season instead.

His batting against Sri Lanka for the Lions was probably enough to warrant him being selected for England, seeing as Stokes picked Bashir off a highlights package on the CC website.

McKinney definitely plays the style of cricket they want, his performances last summer were definitely promising. He's like a left handed Crawley in his stature at crease and some of the shots he plays.

Wouldn't be surprised to see McKinney and Farhan Ahmed in the touring party for the Ashes.

I just don't understand why England would select him when he's literally become 3rd choice for his own County and has essentially been sent packing. He offers nothing with the bat either. If he was taking loads of wickets then fair enough, but he's not.

Unless Baz has a daughter I can't see why they wouldn't pick Jack Carson, who can at least bat pretty well and is clearly improving with the ball.

Guess see how he does in Division One first. Parkinson was excellent for Durham in Div 2 and largely crap for Kent in Div 1.

I'm excited to see Farhan Ahmed who'd I assume could play every game for Notts as their main spinner.

The next month will be interesting in the CC, the likes of Robinson, Pennington and Tongue could all yet be considered. But most likely it's 3 from the 4 you mention and we'll see which spinner Stokes has taken a liking to on Youtube.

Got to see what Stokes is fitness is like too, as we need 5 bowlers.

If Stokes can't bowl then Root is the spinner. If you play Bashir in the early Summer then it's a three man attack.
