England A lose again

Rik

Cricketer Of The Year
One thing that has really irked me, what on earth is Matt Prior even doing in the squad let alone opening the batting? He has an appauling List A OD record and it seems as if suddenly after one good season everyone jumps on the bandwagon that he's the next big thing! Tim Ambrose, who has had much less favouritism from Sussex has been more consistant over 2 years although Prior started poorly then last year finally scored some runs. I'm pretty sure unless another county come in for Ambrose he'll go back to Australia and I don't want to see a talent like him slipping through our fingers, he's a hell of a lot better than Prior.

Ok i am sorry if i offend any Indian users with that Comment, i dont like to see any England team lose

But there are no one coming though it seems Bare who is going to replace Thorpe, Hussain... Collingwood is not test class and there is no one coming though

in 5 years we will have a worst side then it was in 1999

I doubt if Hussain is really that great, that he can stay in the team in such bad form, though Thorpe should stay on.

Collingwood may not be Test standard, but the Test batsmen are nothing more than ordinary and some of them, especially Hussain, can't field. This is where he will come useful.

This is our Second xi and half of them are not regulars yet

Kadeer Ali- i rate him but he not in the Worcester side often

Simon Francis- is 25 now and not a regular at Hampshire

Alex Gidman - IMO a good one day player but never going to set the world alight

Simon Jones- class the only one in this team proven

Shaftab Khalid- Not a Regular at Worcestershire and with Batty never likely too

Graham Napier- already 24 and not a regular in the Essex first xi

Scott Newman- already 24 and only played 5 games surely it now or never for him

Kevin Pietersen- a good player who could play for England

Matt Prior- nearly 22 and has a good Future

Bilal Shafayat- only 19 i would have taken him to Bangladesh, is Unproven shows decent class at times

Ed Smith- good at County level, poor at England level

James Tredwell- only 21 has A good Future Kent need to play him more

Graham Wagg- How is he in the England A team, in the summer he was playing in a Midweek league surely it time to ditch him

This one thing where Chris is actually right. Hussain is an excellent fielder.

Kadeer Ali - i rate him but he not in the Worcester side often
Very good reason for him not being in the side often - not good enough. On the same boat to oblivion with Solanki.

Simon Francis- is 25 now and not a regular at Hampshire
Well be fair, he does play for Somerset..

Alex Gidman - IMO a good one day player but never going to set the world alight
I really rate this guy very highly

Shaftab Khalid- Not a Regular at Worcestershire and with Batty never likely too
You're suggesting that Batty is good?!

Scott Newman- already 24 and only played 5 games surely it now or never for him
Is his big chance now that Ward has left Sussex

Kevin Pietersen- a good player who could play for England
Will, not could

Matt Prior- nearly 22 and has a good Future
One of many keepers with potential. Prior, Ambrose, Wallace, Mustard, New etc. Up for grabs

Bilal Shafayat- only 19 i would have taken him to Bangladesh, is Unproven shows decent class at times
Taking him to Bdesh would have been insanity. There's having class and showing it when it matter - totally different

James Tredwell- only 21 has A good Future Kent need to play him more
He plays regularly as it is..

Graham Wagg- How is he in the England A team, in the summer he was playing in a Midweek league surely it time to ditch him
Bias alert. He top scored in the first Karnataka game..

Only a two wicket defeat:

India A 229-8 - Dinesh Mongia 88, Sajjid Mahmood 4-51

The tour is a learning progress and we certainly are learning :)

V Reddy

International Debutant
Typical Indian collapse from 189-1 to 229-8. Mahmood seems to be coming on well. Any chance of him getting in to the team soon ?

How did I guess you'd pick on him - county bias perchance?

Local radio today announced that England 'A' have lost their second consecutive match with India "One-Nil"

Hmmm... his most recent efforts (5 Tests) have been better than Butcher.

Yes i knew but why did i put Hampshire

Alex Gidman - IMO a good one day player but never going to set the world alight

Batty is good at County level, Khalid will only get a chance when Batty plays for England

Scott Newman- already 24 and only played 5 games surely it now or never for him

It should be his chance

Kevin Pietersen- a good player who could play for England
Will, not could

I agree

Why would it be an Insanity?

James Tredwell- only 21 has A good Future Kent need to play him more
He plays regularly as it is..

he played 40% of Kent matches

Graham Wagg- How is he in the England A team, in the summer he was playing in a Midweek league surely it time to ditch him

Not Bias, Fact simply because he plays for Warwick means that i dont rate him, but he is average cricketer to me ok he top scored but that does not mean he got a good future, see i dont really rate Khalid...... and Neil Solanki scored 100 in a ODi Match against South Africa and you dont rate Him so is there a worcester Bias No

I don't rate him because he gets out sub-10 so often...

Which kind of fits the bias suggestion quite nicely - Because he plays for Warwickshire you don't rate him - and that's in your words!!!

In his other 19 innings in ODI's, he's scored the grand total of 267 runs - maybe that might be why we don't rate him?
