No cricket today so following the footy. Spoke to my friend who is an accountant . He says he is involved in a consortium that are in talks with Pools owner Raj Singh about buying the club and it's looking promising.

Fingers crossed.

The ECB is interested in building a £500million roofed stadium capable of staging Test cricket and other major matches regardless of the weather and potentially outside of the English summer.

Sunday Times story

be an interesting concept , though in the interests of spreading the game , I suspect it will be within a 30 mile radius of London

Where are they getting the money for this?

I know they've got the franchise money but that was supposed to benefit the counties and grass roots cricket.

I had to check.the date. April Fools day isn't for a few days yet.

24 hours to Tulsa .One day away from your heart. Tomorrow at 11:00 sees the final preseason preparations start with the visit of Durham University to the Riverside for a 3 day game.Last year's game resulted in a draw with Ackers hitting 179 in the first innings and Ben Raine 67* in the second. The Drizzler took 7 wkts across the game.. Nikki Gorantla who has played for South North during his studies hit a gritty 36* to ensure the spoils were shared . With no official statement from the club it's guesswork as to the make up of the side . Hopefully Conners, Minto and Coggs play a part after suffering from niggles on tour . Army Cadet Mustard,Hoggy and Mr Reliable - Ben Raine should get an opportunity to blow off the winter cobwebs.. Highly expected that 13/14 players from each side will partake. Still awaiting updates from Relton Terrace's version of Young Stanley's dad but guessing the wicket will down the bottom of the square near to the Trapdoor Stand . Further news as and when it's available

I never got down to the ground last week as I was avoiding seeing the Chester Mags roaming around the Front Street but historically the wicket is usually near to the Don Robson for the Uni game.
