The other 2 are season ticket holders The son had a black Unwashed coat on and his dad who is an ex team mate of mine walks with the aid of crutches. I had a navy blue hoody on and glasses.

He’s the best umpire in the world by a country mile. No way he gets demoted, for me it must’ve been his decision. With all the travelling being an elite umpire brings, added to that his franchise gigs around the world, it isn’t conducive to stable family life.

Either way, that’s enough speculation, the man deserves his privacy and I wish him nothing but the best.

But the plus side is spending our winters in sunnier climates in decent hotels with all expenses paid. It appears that he has been demoted which is ridiculous given that,as you say, he remains the standout official by some distance.
