Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, Red Hill has echoed my thoughts pretty much on this issue.
More effort to click between subforums.I fail to see why them being a different subforum would make you stop coming.
Just my opinion, but I think drafts contribute a bit to knowledge of some members, and help create some of the historical conversation threads in CC.I fail to see why them being a different subforum would make you stop coming.
You'll see when it doesI fail to see why them being a different subforum would make you stop coming.
Yeah that's a validish (even if weak) argument but it doesn't apply at all to what ankitj said if he was going to come specifically for drafts and nothing else; he'd have still been coming for one subforum. He'd just have to click on a different one, not more of them.More effort to click between subforums.
well, the ppl are saying that engagement with CC might be effected, which might effect site engagement, which is surely one of the objectives of an internet forum....Yeah that's a validish (even if weak) argument but it doesn't apply at all to what ankitj said if he was going to come specifically for drafts and nothing else; he'd have still been coming for one subforum. I think it's tidier and won't actually really affect anything at all, so I'm very marginally in favour and ultimately don't really care much. Arguments either way are going to be exaggerated and nothing will change IMO.
Yeah but my point was that those people are wrong.well, the ppl are saying that engagement with CC might be effected, which might effect site engagement, which is surely one of the objectives of an internet forum....
as you can see it was also discussed earlier in that same thread. Indeed you made your objections known at the time.So let me get this straight. This decision was made by asking the people in a single draft if it was a good idea, and they said no, and by half a page of discussion on page 22 of an unrelated thread in the Site Discussion subforum?
The universe welcomes careful drivers.
I did? I can't find a post of mine. At least I'm consistent if I did.as you can see it was also discussed earlier in that same thread. Indeed you made your objections known at the time.

Another bonus of this is that we can now give drafters control over their first post, keeping things up to date and much cleaner for participants.
Engagement numbers can be tracked and this is something we will be monitoring but give this time to settle.
the angry icons were notedI did? I can't find a post of mine. At least I'm consistent if I did.
This.I have to admit this entire discussion is slightly bizzare for me. I hardly ever use the actual forum sub-divisions. New posts is the only important button.
Don't have an opinion on the draft thing either way but this is a very good call on the OT subforum, especially with the "what do you look like" and myriad other threads where we share personal information. On a side note, Off Topic, General Sports and the Politics forums are now Members only and don't show to Guests/Search Engine Bots.
This is a dreadful take tstlI have absolutely nothing against drafts or those who participate in them, but absolutely none of the arguments put forward in favour of keeping the drafts in CC actually hold any water
Especially the idea that people would stop visiting CW entirely if the drafts were transferred, that is just absurd on the very face of it, a statement deserving of nothing but ridicule
Ok. Time will tell.Yeah but my point was that those people are wrong.
